Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I had a similar problem with an old X-Fi Fatality., that I wanted to use i my new gaming rig.
The only solutions was the following installation order:
XP SP2
chipset drivers
latest x-fi drivers
windows web-update
other hardware driver
I have no idea why it worked in this sequence, but it...
Strange, it worked with the first RAMs I used, 2 Corsair sets a 2*1 GB that were laying around. I do not recall the exact version, but Everest reads the SPD as Corsair CMX1024-3200C2.
Blind luck, I suppose ;-)
I use the "normal" PC 160 (without the Logo).
Comparing it to some cheap headsets on a local LAN-party, it was the best sounding. The Mic setup was somewhat tricky. But once it runs, it produces good sound.
Not as comfortable as a Sennheiser 580 or 600 for longer use, but these are real...

Unpack SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_07_0003.EXE (the latest XP-driver from the CL-Homepage) with winrar. There will be a file called support.cab. Same procedure, unpack it with winrar. There You shall find a folder "common" containing webdrv.ini, which can be opened with notepad: replace OSMinimumReq WINXP...
2T-yes
pc2700-no
It defaulted to pc3200 and worked (even at slightly higher settings) without any problems.
But I used the latest Beta-Bios to avoid possible problems with a X-Fi. An official release Bios might use more conservative RAM-settings ...
Nothing is better than RAM, except...
4 gigs do work without any problems in the pre-cursor of Your mainboard, the A8N SLI Premium. You do realize that Win32 will only make limited use of the last gig?
I used two pairs of corsair 1 gig sticks at the default setting for my current gaming rig, no problems. I do not recall the exact...
This thread is of no use, as there is only one company left building "real" soundcards with an integrated DSP to speed up audio processing, namely CreativeLabs.
Aureal is gone (I still have a few Vortex I & II boards in storage) and NVidia abandoned its Soundstorm onboard-audio. Intels recent...
The X-Fi (at least the current drivers) consider a microphone attached to the MicIn on the card itself to be Mic0 and a microphone attached to the MicIn on the front panel to be Mic1.
BF2 only checks for Mic0. Other games are more flexible.
Creative is not willing/able to offer...
