    just an anecdote about software optimization. my macbook pro m1 can take quite a while converting an image to png in photoshop. it can hang for maybe up to 10 seconds at 99%. my 11th gen i7 vaio does it instantaneously. like, before you hit save instantaneously. i may get the new one...
