All software ships with known bugs. It’s up to the developer to decide what the acceptable level is before going RTM. Otellini himself should know this. This looks like a strange but certainly out-of-context comment that was quoted. This is much ado about nothing.

Like many products from many companies, they leave an upgrade path by underdelivering on the first product. "Windows 8 can display 3-bit color depth." Then when the next versions comes, they'll be shouting "Upgrade to Windows 9! Now with 16-bit color depth!" Wow
