FX is Back!
The 4184 opterons are currently six core not magny's eight core BUT run at 2.8ghz at a more affordable cost. One result I can find http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=4766705&postcount=341 with a pair running the cinebench. Granted they aren't reaching 4.0ghz but it's...- drenpot

FX is Back!
I see the current gen desktop cpus have plummeted but the opterons seem to have held value. I'm jonesing to go the socket c32 route with a pair of opterons (4184) in the near term then Bulldoze myself. The cost is still up there for the Lisbons.....- drenpot

CeBIT 2011 Bulldozer info?
It's a socket c32 (server) board. The bulldozer (server) cpu will slip into it unlike the bulldozer (client) cpu into am3 boards. The only question is will a simple bios update fix the fact that the board currently accepts 1333mem and bulldozer (server) will accept 1600mem. This board...- drenpot

CeBIT 2011 Bulldozer info?
Chipset problems have delayed the unveiling. Good thing they didn't run a sarcastic ad at valentines about a competitors chipset issues. I'll still probably pick up a ASUS KCMA-D8 in '11 qtr4 and go dual 4200 (server cpu) bulldozers seeing that it appears they're going to run over 3-3.5...- drenpot
