It's not cheaper at Gamestop, Best Buy or Amazon as far as I see, which are the only US retailers on the pre-purchase list. I suppose retailers in other countries might be charging less, though, so that could be a valid point elsewhere. Just to make sure it's clear to all: anybody can play on...

Honestly, if you're not getting the CE, the only reason I can see to pre-purchase anywhere other than direct from NCSoft is if you really, really want a physical box.

In a post on Reddit in reference to pre-purchase of the CE, ArenaNet claimed that Amazon (in the US and most others except France) can't do a pre-purchase in which they charge you the full price and send you a code but don't ship until some time (indeterminate, presumably months) later. We can...

Looking at the Gamestop website, the digital versions say While the physical versions say It seems to me like it's a screw up on Gamestop's end since ArenaNet/NCSoft clearly communicated the difference between pre-purchase and pre-order at some point.

It looks like I was mistaken about how they had phrased certain things and simply hadn't seen certain tweets. Thanks for correcting me on that. However, I was still right that they aren't "ahead of schedule" for the events - we knew there would be a beta event in late March before we knew about...

The test that just happened was not a Beta Weekend Event. That name specifically refers to the events that you can get access to by pre-purchasing and that they expect to have once per month starting in April. There will still be their ongoing beta and more events related to the 48 hour signup...

The only official claim is 2012, but summer is expected by many given that they've always said the public beta period would be fairly short.

"They have to much time on their hands".

What makes you think that? Accepting that there is a wide spectrum, this would be in reference to the high end.

You'll notice that those boosts are temporary and are severely limited by the time it takes to research them (12 hours - 1 day) and that you can only research up to two at a time (if you get the Guild Workshop upgrade). Permanent upgrades take up to 1 week. It seems that paying the Influence...

It's so true, female video game characters are so crappy in general

Because when you call a guy a bastard, it carries overtones of "illegitimate child", right?

Suspecting that there might be a correlation/causation is not the same as blaming the victim.
