Worlds better. Fonts on the LG34UM95 are very crisp, and the P2715Q takes it to the next level.
I have an second 1080p monitor at work I use in portrait mode for email. I did not realize how "fuzzy" it was until I started
using the LG34UM95.
I received my P2715Q today. I ran it for about 1 hour without scaling before changing it to +125%.
Normally, small fonts do not bother me at all. I like my apps compact. I have the LG34UM95 21x9 3440 x 1440 at work. I do not use scaling and my console apps (linux) run at 8-9pt font size...
Well, good news. My Dell 2408wfp has a 3 year warranty. A replacement is on the way.
I know Dell gets a bad rep sometimes, but this is a nice surprise. I purchased the monitor new in July 2008, so I am just coming under the 3 year warranty.
Thanks NCX.
I watched your review of the HP 2509b before posting. I looks like my local Best Buy has them in stock for $199. I think I'll go over today and see what the look like.
I'm going to miss my 2408wfp.
I currently have a Dell 2408WFP. It is starting to die. It keeps switching between different Picture in Picture modes after it has been on for a while. It won't let me access the OSD at all when it does this, so I can't make it stop.
So, I'm looking to "upgrade".
Here is what I am...
I have a 2408WFP; just got it last week. I am not a hardcore gamer, but I do play TF2 once in a while. This monitor works fine for me. I don't notice any lag in game or when running my day to day desktop tasks. I am running a dual monitor setup with the 2005WFP and don't notice any lag...
I just took delivery of my monitor today. Manufacture date is July 2008, but it is still the old version with the sharpness increments of 25 and not 10.
I will probably hold onto it for now and get it replaced when the new ones are confirmed.
