AMD Determines That Absolute Immersion In VR Requires 128 Megapixel Display.

    Will Crossfire/SLI ever be good?

Good response. Thanks. I suppose the waiting game begins considering how highly everyone is speaking of DX12/Vulkan

    Will Crossfire/SLI ever be good?

If you read the rest of my post, I mention the word "seamless" as well.

    Swap Xfire R9 290's for 980 ti?

Good point. Although...what of issues like 'flickering' and frame pacing?

Ah yes... Forgot about dx12 and the supposed mentionings of dual gpu support

    Swap Xfire R9 290's for 980 ti?

Fuck and I was considering snagging a cheap 290 and a new PSU to try my first crossfire...hearing stuff like this certainly makes it sound a lot less appealing.

    Will Crossfire/SLI ever be good?

If so, how soon? I understand the basic premise as to why it cannot currently be easily supported...but are we looking at years or decades still? I also understand it can be a game by game basis. My question is focused on GPU companies making dual card configurations absolutely seamless.

Update for AMD Freesync & Crossfire Support

No. And as for an ETA, not that I'm aware of......makes me worried for when they do release crossfire support that its going to be rough.

Update for AMD Freesync & Crossfire Support

Just got my ASUS 1440p 144hz IPS w/ Freesync, but with my lone 290 I can't run demanding titles anywhere near the144 fps range. After testing Freesync in BF4 it seems to be working well enough (Ultra with 2xMSAA getting 65-75 FPS, 4xMSAA was a good 20 frames less). However, I wouldn't mind...

    Bought GTX 970, should I return for R9 390?

    If that's the case then that's a shame :(

    Bought GTX 970, should I return for R9 390?

Considering what happened to the 700 series... Seriously though, they are both neck and neck. Would be a waste of time and energy to return a card of the same tier for another one. Stick it out until you can't take it anymore and then SLi with 970's...which are supposedly one of the best...

    Samsung FREESYNC monitors.

Should be, but still no one knows. Oh well, still feel great about my recent 144hz 1440p IPS Freesync ASUS purchase. Gets here tomorrow :D

    Samsung FREESYNC monitors.

If they are TNs then I'm not interested. Still don't see what type of panel they are.
