No argument, just 1 fin less by my count than yours. ;) I even said all cool the same because extra fins are not fit to heatpipes thus are not radiating heat.
I was trying to say your post validates mine.
I was trying to say is your cropped Thermalright pics are photographic proof of what I was...
It happens to the best!!
Used to be 1st thing peeps posted when someone posted they were overheating.
I did it once assembling a system when I should have been in bed.
Cost me better part of a day's work before I pulled cooler.
Your PS120 and PS120EVO image clearly shows what I posted is accurate. 👍
I used Thermalright dimensional images for mine. ;) I didn't post source because it's obvious where they came from .. and I've been working with Thermalright fr om shortly after they opened shop. They changed ownership a...
Actually Phantom Spirit models have 3 more fins with a 4th tight against thicker top cap . ;)
Phantom Spirit models have 3 more cooling fins plus top cap.
To be fair heatpipe to fin seating is minimal if at all to those 3 fins
I've included drawing to show differences:
Phantom Spirit 120 SE has been around for awhile now. It was released in November 2022.
Nice to see a decent review to back up what owners have been saying. ;)
I use an old chopstick with a 'V' filed at 45 degree angle in square end to hook fan clip onto fan. So much easier than trying to get fingers and not get cut.
Actual cost of manufacture vs retail pricing is almost always at least 10 mill markup. That's a product costing $1 to make sells for at least $10. Some things (cel phones, earbuds, Nike shoes, etc) are $1 cost of manufacture sells for $300-1000.
Quick proof is check out prices of earbuds...
Agreed, Frost Spirit is way better cooler than Arctic 36.
Neither Arctic or Thermalright are 'taking a bath' at these prices. Cooler material and construction cost is very low. I would be surprised if Frost Spirit manufacturing cost more than about $7 and fans $1 each .. total cost including...
Arctic 36 is just another of so many other similar sized 4x 6mm heatpipes single tower coolers with single or double fans on the market these days. Nothing special about it at all except it's one of several in it's low price range.
While in theory 4x 6mm heatpipes can cool a little more than...
Id Cooling SE-224-XT is one of about 20 coolers with 4x 6mm finpack with 120mm fan/s. All cool similar with price ranging from around $20 to about $35.
All cool about half as well as Thermalright Phantom Spirit series with pricing starting around $31. ;)
What freeagentt said.
Thermalright was in computer cooler business 4 years before Noctua started up.
In March 2007 Thermalright showed us their 4x 8mm twin tower IFX-14 Inferno Fire eXtinguisher with HR-10 backside cooler. They used that cooler base and 4x 8mm heatpipes design with different...
Arc Midi R2 has 170mm CPU clearance. Clearance spec is usually conservative.
Both metal side and glass side CPU clearance spec are same, but glass being thicker is a few mm less actual clearance than metal side.
DVTest case review 25.01.2013 says:
Bit Tech review also says 180mm CpU...
xDiVolatilX
You don't say what case you plan to use, Whatever you choose needs to have at least 175mm of CPU clearance for a 120m fan to fit over Gskill RGB RAM.
RAM socket sets about 5mm below CPU IHS height. So we subtract 5mm from you Gskill RGB RAM height of 60mmm, then add 120mm for...
AMD 5900X is quite a hot cpu.
In my opinion too hot for NH-U12A.
There are many coolers way better than NH-U12A on the current market. Specifically Thermalright's new twin towers costing half as much often a third and some can be had for a forth the cost of U12A.
