Yeah, instant heat issues are not enough cooling, not airflow issue .. or possibly poor seating / TIM not doing it's job. But if it's been doing sense first startup on new system is cooler. I agree, as long as it keeps CPU cool with your daily...

Both have basically the same cooling. Not sure what your system airflow setup is, but if it takes10-15 minutes for CPU temp and fan speed to peak when CPU goes from idle to full speed, then case airflow is likely culprit. With case airflow...

doyll replied to the thread Identifying Tower Heatsink?.
Sorry, I missunderstood. I don't know if crossbar is same or not. Problem I see is if users has AM4 system and AM3 cooler they do not have AM4 hole spacing on mount to attach to motherobard.

doyll replied to the thread Identifying Tower Heatsink?.
Not true. FM2, FM3, AM2, AM3 mounting hole spacing in motherboard is 48 x 96 mm. AM4 mounting hole spacing is 54.18 90 mm. Look at image below and you will see new mount with older FM1, FM2, AM2, AM3 black mounting holes are not the same...

Prolimetech website shows 5 Megahelm coolers, sadly no AM4 mounts. Thermalright still sells updated mount for their thick base coolers. The ones with angled top and bottom edges like on orginal Silver Arrow, TRUE Spirit 140 Power, HR-22, Ultra...

P400A cooler clearance is only160mm which limits choices considerably. NF-A14 front intakes with all openings in mounting panel not covered by them blocked off so the air they push into case cannot leak around in front to go in circles instead...

doyll replied to the thread Fan control question.
I agree, 4x fans might be too much on single fan header. A fan rated 0.20A can and do draw 3-6 times that 0.6-1.2A) at startup or if something stops impeller from turning.

For that kind of money you can get a much better cooler. Something like Mugen 5 linked below. https://www.newegg.com/scythe-scmg-5100/p/13C-0004-00075?Item=9SIA9ZH6GN8650 Would help to know what case & case fans, motherboard and RAM you are...

doyll replied to the thread Optimal i9 Cooling Orientation?.
Air flowing into case through a radiator will be about the same temp everywhere inside of case. Every degree warmer air is become same degree hotter GPU and other components will be. Air temp entering cooler to component temp is a 1:1 ratio...

I agree. The AIOs I listed while much better than CLCs are still made with components as low or lower in quality than lowest quality custom loop components.

I lap mine to finish like you did because difference in finish was enough to measure. I tested a few AIO/CLCs and found CLCs (not all AIOs are CLCs) to be marginal at best. Not sure if you care or not, but not only are CLCs the cheapest built...

Thanks D-EJ915 The Cooljag I got have straight motor mounting arms and 3 mounting hole pattern corners and newer Thermalright's are curved. Thermalright also has padded corners and like you said braided cable. Overall Thermalright are nicer...

Interesting. I just searched "Thermalright" on amazon.com and get lots of Thermalright products being sold by Nan's Gaming Gear who is North American distributer. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=thermalright&ref=nb_sb_noss Thermalright Direct is...

Bit of trivia, before I found Cooljag / Everflow and Thermalright started making square ones I was trimming rounded sides of TY-140/TY-143 to 140mm width and made adapter plates to mount them onto 140mm radiators or to 140mm case vents. If you...

Problem is they are hard to find. I believe they are made by Cooljag / Everflow and are same basic fan as square model F121425BUAF. Frozen PC sells the square ones for $10.99 ...

My old Fractal Design R1 had 3x TY-143 intakes in front and bottom supplying 2x 120x25mm fans on GPU and TY-143s on PH-TC14PE. Kept 920@4.3GHz at 70c full speed. Never ran fans that fast because it was 76c at 1200 rpm. Safe operating temp...

Top down is best location, but problem isn't just location. But that doesn't change the fact CLCs are the absolute cheapest possible build cost & quality liquid cooling that can be made only just having enough cooling ability to do the job...

doyll replied to the thread Arctic Liquid Freezer II rev3.
With CLCs larger radiator sizes do help, but not as much as in custom loops. While I can't prove it I believe the reason is their pump's extremely low (40-60 L/h) coolant flowrate doesn't move coolant through waterblock fast enough compoounded...

Le Grand Macho RT is one of the very best! I've used one quite a bit myself, but use TRUE Spirit 140 Power more. Performs as well for much less money. ;)
