Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
They were $179 yesterday, after they went OOS they jumped back up in price. I live no where near a Fry's, there aren't any in my state or in the connecting ones to my knowledge, however with the internet at our fingertips, many things become available. ;)...
Yes it is, the Dell will not support the upgrade path you are seeking, it's a futile effort and not worth the money. I've seen countless friends try to go that route and end up screwed because the Dell was built for what they spec and NOTHING more. There is little to no headroom for upgrading...
For anyone that wants a GTX new, they are $330 on the 'egg. $30 is still a good savings direct from eVGA if you can accept the 'open box' concept, which I most certainly can. :)
Edit:  Nice catch Limahl, it definitely closes the margins on this deal a little bit. I'm still trying to decide...
Don't waste your time with a Dell, particularly the Vostro, it is an economy computer, not intended for gamers.
Their systems use standard ATX boards but IIRC they repin their PSU connections to the mainboard to a non-standard layout and the PSU itself offers very limited expandability; many...
Yea, revise your list, also what specific memory and mainboard are you looking at?
I'd suggest:
Abit IP35-e, I think this is down to $50 after rebates
Core2Quad Q6600, $179 @ Fry's
G,Skill or Corsair 4x1GB PC6400 kits, both are rather affordable right now at Newegg.
Samsung F1 750GB...
You have an Abit IP35 with those crappy plastic push pins. They do not provide nearly enough pressure to maintain good contact with the HS and removing it you'll see the poor impressions into the interface material. Do the bolt mod to get better pressure on there and replace the almost worthless...
Haha, yea, I had no idea that IPS was as popular now as it has been. I'm still happy with my purpose and it does suit my needs rather well but that is valuable information to have and that link gave gobs of it.

I'm sort of curious what the visualphiles and real display critiques think of these. I purchased one recently after using them at work a fair bit. We employ many Dell Ultrasharp displays, from...
This is so true and almost exactly what I was going to say.
I understand what these companies are trying to accomplish by adding copyright protection to their media but in the process they are screwing over the consumer that has faith in their product and will buy it instead of stealing it...
Oh hi, I fixed that for you.
Yea, Gibson is making some poor choices, to the tune of many companies these days. It is just an excuse for them to get away with lower quality for just a bit longer. I wouldn't be surprised if future GuitarHero games are sponsored by Fender out of spite.
