I saw those posts and tried looking up some reference 7970 temps, but they varied quite a bit and was impossible to compare to. They also didn't use Furmark for many of them.
An open-air reference with all else identical might be an easy way to see if there is sufficient airflow around...
Are all those holes even necessary? Maybe limit them to just over the PSU exhaust area.
With the side fans as intakes, most of the air will then be pushed out the bottom. Probably keep the hard drive and video card cooler that way too.

I have never seen DI-NOC in person, but I know it is possible to get real carbon-fiber veneer applied on aluminum. In fact, most of the carbon fiber 'look' you are used to seeing is from a final sheet of cosmetic CF, as the underlying, structural CF can look pretty messy.

Anyone know if a 3.5" drive could fit if it was rotated 90deg and moved as far forward in the case as possible?

problem is whenever i turn the monitor off and leave the computer for just a couple min and try to turn the monitor back on, the screen remains black. the cpu usages is also really high when it does...
