Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I wiped off some of the excess thermal paste (there was a whole lot), and now the thing will only turn on for 1 second, then it shuts off. Uh oh...
at least my powerbook still works great.
yeah, I'd like to stick with as few fans as possible.. I'm going for quiet here.
I touched the heatsink, and it's cool! it must not be seated right. I'm gonna re-seat it and re-thermal paste it (not too much), and I'll post the results.
I believe I have good airflow. I got an Antec fan blowing out in the back of the case. I also have an Antec 400W power supply w/ 2 fans (of course). The system temperature is around 34 deg C.
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a cpu heat issue I've been having for quite a while (I'm surprised the cpu hasn't burnt out yet). My CPU runs hot. And by hot I mean.. HOT. I'm looking a the BIOS screen and it's saying I'm at 78 degrees Celsius just sitting and doing nothing...
