    Dremel Question

I use protective glasses and a dust mask. I don't bother with gloves.

    HD6850, 300w 80+ bronze enough juice?

No. When my setup is at full load, pulling 270 watts from the wall, I am pulling 77% of the maximum 350W that it could be pulling from the wall. When the power supply is at 100% load supplying 300W output (which doesn't happen even when I have CPU and GPU at 100%) then it would theoretically...

    HD6850, 300w 80+ bronze enough juice?

Well I went ahead and built nearly the same build the OP was talking about. Shuttle SH55 J2 Intel i5 760 (2.8 GHz, 95W TDP@100%) Sapphire HD6850 8 GB GSkill DDR3 2x500GB Hard drives BD Burner Loaded everything up to 100% using Prime95 and Furmark. I let both run simultaneously for 3...

AMD Catalyst 10.12 Drivers and Preview Package

Sweet. I'm on my way home right now and will install them as soon as I get there. I was having the random mouse cursor problem, so hopefully this fixes that. It will also be nice to have official support for my 6850.

    HD6850, 300w 80+ bronze enough juice?

I was wondering if you ended up going with this setup. It is nearly identical to the setup I am considering (Shuttle SH55J2,Core i5 760, Radeon 6850). Did it work out, have you run into to any issues yet?

What interface will your *next* video-card be?

I voted AGP, even though the actual next video card I buy will be PCIe, I just ordered a new AGP card Yesterday.

Best bang for the buck AGP card

Yeah, none of the AGP x800 GTO are likely to unlock to 16 pipes. The GTO2 cards, however, are guaranteed to unlock to 16, and you still keep the warranty when you do it, but they only come in PCIe so the point is moot. Even without unlocking it you still get damn good performance/price...

Best bang for the buck AGP card

I just orderered an x800 GTO. Right now it seems to be the best bang for the buck AGP card. It outperforms the vanilla 6800 and 6600GTs, and is right around $200. Is it just me or does there seem to be a shortage of performance-mainstream AGP cards? AGP 6800GT are out of stock everywhere, and...

    [H] ATI X1000 (R520) Series Eval.

Finally ATI "launched" thier new series. I put launched in quotes because as of right now(4:15pm Pacific time) I still can not find any x1xx series cards available anywhere. It's good to see that ATI was able to keep up, but that is also with quite a few extra months of development time. If...

    19" 12ms LCD Monitor for $239.99(with MIR)

Depends on what you are using it for. For most applications(surfing, spreadsheets, word proccessing, movie watching) 250cd/m2 is fine. If you are planning on doing alot of gaming, 300cd/m2 is kind of a minimum. Still a very [H]ot deal for what you are getting though!

is nvidia ever going to release 7800GT AGP?

I think he was referring to DDR2, since he has a pentium.

GeForce4 users! What drivers do you recommend?

I am currently using the official drivers that were availiable last week on my Geforce4 4400. It works great. There is no "forcing" you have to do to play newer games, they automatically recognize the hardware as DirectX 8.1 and adjust accordingly.

why do you think pirates pirate?

I feel that there is alot of greed by the producers, and they are letting thier greed affect fair use. The Foo Fighters CD that will not let you play it on your computer without a special downloaded license, and cannot be put on a iPod is a clear violation of fair use. When you buy a CD fair...

    how long will a 6800 last ?

As the others said, I would stay away from Epox for the motherboard and drop the CRT in favor of an LCD. Your memory selection is horrible. That memory has slow timings and only has a two year warranty, it is also not dual-channel tested. If you want memory that is cheap go with a 2GB dual...

    R.I.P. 6800 Ultra

Actually most companies do not void your warranty for overclocking without mods. If OCing (Without volt mods) voided your warranty then they would not include overclocking tools as part of the card bundle, as many video card companies do. However with the volt mod, it does void the warranty...
