    Do all SSD's screech?

I have tried several SSDs from Intel and Western Digital, and they all screech. A high pitch whiny noise, which matches the amount of HDD activity going on. I have seen people complaining about the noise on Crucial SSDs too. Is there any SSD brand & model which is guaranteed not to...

    Vertex 3 120 results...

Let's get back on point, people... Is the Vertex 3 120gb version worth buying??? Everyone knows the 240gb version is king of the hill, but what about the 120gb? How does it compare to other 120gb SSDs? I need to know whether I should buy the 120gb version or not, pretty quick! (I'm sure there...

    G.Skill Eco DDR3-1600 (2 x 2GB) CL7 1.35v

I heard that the 1.35V do not work well when overvolted, all you have to do is search for 1.35V DDR3 on the web and there are some articles back in 2009 that talked about Gskill DDR3 1.35V not being any good.

    4TB drive from Samsung!

Samsung should make it 64mb cache, sticking to 32mb cache is just being unnecessarily stingy in this day and age.

    Are 8GB DIMMs coming?

What about the x58 i7 chipset? Do you think that will be compatible with 8gb modules?

    Matched kits

Yeah I think I'm going to take a risk and go for separate smaller kits, so much cheaper that way. I don't know about Newegg exchange but it still costs money to send the RAM back to them...

    Matched kits

Yeah I checked with the manufacturer (GSkill), they said that if it's incompatible, that's tough luck for me and I can't return it to them or swap them, even if it's straight away. Pretty bad after-sales service if you ask me. And there's no way I would pay newegg 15% restocking fee for...

    Matched kits

I want 24gb total on my i7. If we buy 3 sets of 8gb (4+4gb), and they aren't compatible in triple channel mode for whatever reason, can we return the memory and get a full refund? It's a lot cheaper than buying 2 sets of 12gb (4+4+4gb) - what a ripoff :( an even bigger ripoff is the 24gb set...

    Are 8GB DIMMs coming?

I don't think the maximums are true, it's just there to cover their ass. The motherboard will probably get a BIOS upgrade later when 8gb modules appear.

    Are 8GB DIMMs coming?

Those 8gb DIMMs are ECC though, which means you need a server to run them. I really need non-ECC ones, for i7. When are they coming?
