Anyone get their free Win 7 upgrade from Gateway/laptop?
They should have started sending them out on the release date, but that's probably too much to expect. They say they send them out "in the order received," which sounds a bit flaky for something in the pipeline for so long. Hey, who knows, maybe they'll surprise us!- dkjack

Woefully underrated Toshiba is The Best Display Bargain
Sorry, guess I wasn't clear: I keep the TV set to Native. If I want to use my TV as a PC monitor, then I want it to have the same 16:10 PC geometry. 1680 x 1050 (WSXGA+) output from the PC is the biggest 16:10 size that fits a 1920 x 1080 TV screen. Screwing up the geometry just to fill a big... -

Thanks for the Hz correction. I've changed it in the original. Also I've changed the screen to 1680 x 1050. 1920 x 1080 fills the screen, but I think the geometry of 1680 x 1050 is better. SH1: Ideal PC use would require an ability to switch all of the TV processing off. Hmm...as you... -

Good grief, what is he DOING??? Got this off the clip: So, what's going on is black bands from non-16:9 content rendered in 1080p, then blue bands from1080p rendered in 2560x1600? This would be the right scaling for BluRay on a 30-inch? __ -

Saw this posted over at Tom's: Just a word of warning to anyone purchasing [the Dell 3008WFP] monitor and wanting to watch Blu-Ray titles on it. If you use DVI as your input it cannot display Blu-Ray titles above 1920 x 1080. Now I know this is the native res on the monitor. But HDCP will... -

From what I read of users' reactions to 30", the difference is awesome, a whole scale higher. I think the problem is pricing. There's this big inflation past 27 inches. (There was a similar jump from 15-17' CRTs to 19-21".) Think I once heard about special technical issues about 30" or the... -

Huh? Egg is selling a Corsair 3x2GB 1.65v. triple channel kit for $209. Not very much for 6GB of bleeding edge DDR3 memory. Can't get out of Costco for less than that! ;)- dkjack

Except, according to the review the P6T6 won't work in 3-way SLI mode. They had to wait for ASUS to come up with a beta BIOS update to fix it. Still waiting for the public release. A major new feature that doesn't work is kind of pathetic. Once again, customers doing the QC. Prolly best...- dkjack
