Anyone here uses Dynaudio BM5A compact as desktop audio?

I know but I decided to get them anyway. I have the focal now on stands behind my desk and everything looks cluttered with cables. Dynaudio said 60 cm is the minimum distance for them to sit away and that's about how far I will have them in my setup. I'm not really good at making these kind...

Anyone here uses Dynaudio BM5A compact as desktop audio?

I just bought the focal cms 40 and have a return option. I just want to try another pair before I settle down. I use the monitors for orchestral music mostly with some pop and dance on the side. Right now I'm thinking the dbm50 might be too close to my ears at a distance of 60cm away but...

Anyone here uses Dynaudio BM5A compact as desktop audio?

The cable question is not a problem, I have a sound card with unbalanced jacks and I connect the cables on the other hand to balanced XLRs. I've had in the past the bookshelves and amp configuration but I must say I like the nearfields I listened to in my room, the focal cms 40. I'm not sure if...

Anyone here uses Dynaudio BM5A compact as desktop audio?

Would you recommend the dbm50 or the bm5a compact for a small room?

Anyone here uses Dynaudio BM5A compact as desktop audio?

I'm wondering if anyone here has those monitors for music listening with their pc. How do they sound, anything like the BM5A mkII? Thanks.

    DBM50 positioning

I've been looking at the Dynaudio's DBM50 for a while but I haven't found any details regarding the minimum distance from monitor to ears. They are nearfield desktop speakers. The manual says nothing on that matter. Has anyone any idea? Thanks.

    Dynaudio BM5A mkii listening position

the dynaudio bm5a compact have 5.7" woofers. I don't know how they compare to the bm5a mkii but it might be a good solution as well.

    Dynaudio BM5A mkii listening position

The reason I keep coming back to the focal is because of the size of the speaker. If I understand there is a relation between size and listening distance. The focal are far smaller then the dynaudios. I don't really mind bright or laidback type of speaker. I guess i am somewhere in between. I...

    Dynaudio BM5A mkii listening position

You're saying the dynaudio will be less fatiguing than the focal, right?

    Dynaudio BM5A mkii listening position

The only factor holding me back with purchasing the dynaudio is the nearfield distance recommendations. The focals are said to be set at 0.4m as a minimum distance to the ears which fits my 0.6m distance. Also my room is quite small which might affect my decision.

    Dynaudio BM5A mkii listening position

I demoed the Dynaudio against the Adam A5X and liked the Dynaudio more in many ways. I'm also considering the Focal based on reviews and my room size which is rather small. I would go the Dynaudio route as I'm pretty sure they are my favorites but not sure they will work their best in my...

    Dynaudio BM5A mkii listening position

Thanks for clearing this. I might choose a different speaker pair then. I'm reading on the focal cms 40 which has a 4" woofer. This could be more appropriate for my use

    Dynaudio BM5A mkii listening position

Dynaudio recommends a listening position of 1 to 3 meters away from the speakers. I wonder if anyone here sits closer to them, let's say arround 60 cm away. Thanks for the answers as I'm really interested in getting them and need to know if I can be closer to them than recommended.

    Monitors for desktop music

I have added the Adam A3X / Artist 3 lines to my selection as they fit my needs and seem to get good reviews on the internet.

    Monitors for desktop music

I tried the amp + speaker route but I'd rather have the amp integrated in the speaker. I don't know if this is releavant but I think monitors are also designed to be listened to closely which is my case.
