Silly me - I can't believe I didn't include those - my bad. 2 Cores peaked at 70C and 71C. The other 2 were in the low 60's. When I'm doing 4.8ghz at 1.34v I peak at 65C.
Well I enabled PLL overvoltage on my MSI board and was able to boot my 2600k at 5ghz with 1.46v. Ran some super pi, prime, and played bc2 all night long and it took it just fine. Load temps maxed at 70C - a little too hot for my taste so I bumped it back down to 4.8 for the time being. This...
I'm using this board with an H50. It's obviously not the same as a custom loop but maybe you can use it as a frame of reference.
My 2600k is running at 4.8Ghz with 1.34v and I max at 65C on 2 cores - The other two run at around 58-60C.
Wow get over it already. The pre release hype for SB was purely that it's a great overclocker and it has lived up to that and then some.
Just because you read one or two people who claimed it could easily hit 4.9 on air doesn't mean thats what we all expected. All of your posts have seemed...
I'm running my 2600k @ 4.8Ghz with 1.34v set in the BIOS. CPU-Z reports the voltage as 1.35-1.36 once booted. I have an H50 and the hottest it's gotten is high about 62C under load. I'm pretty happy with this overclock so far.
One odd thing - I've noticed most people seem to have...
Hah - Apparently I became a Corsair guy for my new build too..
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 (I ordered 16... thinking I'm going to return 8GB) , Corsair H50 Hydro, Corsair TX850W and I'm waiting for the white version of the Corsair 600T Case.
I was going to put my build in my old Antec 900 but I...
Yikes that is close.. I'm thinking I'll run into the same problem with the 212+ and Corsair Vengeance on the MSI P67-GD65 - the distance between socket and memory slots seems to be about the same.
Perhaps I should just stick with the H50 and not worry about trying out a 212+
Kind of crazy to hear about all the mixed experiences. I figured most of the stores would behave the same. I ordered a 2600k online around 7am this morning for pickup at the Minnesota store.. I live about 5 miles from MC but I was in South Dakota until an hour ago so I had no way to get to MC...
I placed an instore pickup order for mine around 7am - by about 10am the site said they only had 5 2600K's left. I just picked it up about an hour ago no problem :) I'm glad my store seemed to be organized and actually honored the online reservations.
The website seemed to show a change after I reserved a 2600k at my local Microcenter. There were 15 in stock and immediately after placing my order it updated to 14 in stock.
