I'd also like to recommend some settings that REALLY maximize performance/smoothness (some of this is noob)
Registry Setting
-Disable ULPS
CCC Settings
-Power Control +%20
-AFR Friendly
Radeon Pro (Global Config)
-Flip Queue Size 0
Game Specific Config
-Pre Rendered Frames 0
-Triple...
fuck that. Im telling you now. And you will find out soon, lightboost and frame pacing WORK VERY WELL ON AMD.
The 7970 is already a proven top card. Now it's a PROVEN top card with amazing crossfire and lightboost.
What stats are you waiting for?
yea i realize i'm a little too enthusiastic...
exactly. I was talking brand new...
My 2700K 5GHz bottlenecks the shit out of these 7970's @ 120Hz.. I can't see upgrading these cards for a WHILE..
Good old fucking Canadian ATi BACK ON TOP. *dusts off 9800pro and places on mantel*
Can we all agree? Now that AMD has lightboost & framepacing & how those were the only two downsides to AMD 2 months ago (no lightboost, microstutter)...
That AMD is the undisputed king of GPU's currently?
two 7970's for like $800? yep
ITS WORKING PERFECTLY NOW!
changed nothing./.. restarted twice and its perfect now. yea..
you can REALLY notice the animation/panning smoothness. no tearing.
early results with 13.8 in BF3
getting MUCH MUCH higher gpu usage, especially on primary 7970.
getting MUCH higher usage on primary 7970 (%90 / %50) which NEVER happened before.
getting lower fps.
something is wrong.
ulps is disabled. power control is %20... im doing everything right...
im running two 7970s on a 2700K @5GHz...
ulps disabled, power control +%20, AFR friendly crossfire, flip queue size 0 and 0 pre rendered frames in BF3 and I get NO microstutter.
now, with lightboost and this frame pacing driver, AMD is seriously looking like the pound for pound king...
