Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I think I may have narrowed it down to a couple sources.
Having read on other boards that some people were having problems with Maxtor drives in their K8V (which I would assume is a similar enough board to the A8V) I decided to try something. Basically, they would get the same message as I...
I just put together a system with an Asus A8V, and after installing Win XP Pro, I'm getting a random error during bootup.
These are the specs on my system:
A8V Deluxe
Athlon 64 3500+
2x512 Corsair XMS
GeForce 6800GT
1x74GB WD Raptor (SATA)
1x300GB Maxtor DiamondMax 10 (SATA)
SB...
I have two more questions, the first one concerning the WD Raptor.
Is there a reason that WD's SATA cable connector covers the SATA power connector, forcing you to use a 4 pin molex?
And would it be alright if I just used the SATA connector cables that came with my motherboard, and the...
By the connectors "in back of the floppy" I assume you mean the black VIA connectors?
And should I use the drivers on the Asus CD, or should I use the 3.10E drivers from viaarena.com?
Thanks for the help!
Oh, additionally, there's an exe in the VIA RAID folder on the disc named "Setup.exe". There's also a file in the same directory called "VIA Integrated Setup Wizard.msi"
In the Promise / RAID folder, there's a file called "MakeDisk.exe", and there's another file named the same thing in the...
There seems to be a common issue with the A8V Deluxe in that you must install drivers in order for the motherboard/OS to read SATA drives, due to SATA not being 'native' on the board.
I am building an A8V-based system, including the following components: A64 3500+, Antec NeoPower 480W, 1x WD...
HL2 should be out within a week. What would be the point of waiting until then, if you're not going to wait for the new stuff to come out? Might as well build a system now.
I'm contemplating either building an AMD 3500+ (939) system right now, or waiting until October for when the new nVidia chipset is supposed to come out, with its support for PCI-E video cards.
The way I see it, the major pro of waiting is being able to buy a PCI-E GeForce 6800GT with SLI, so...
