I think most people wouldn't pay over retail knowing that within months they will be more readily available. It's only the small 1% of "I didn't get one myself and I have money to blow and want it now" that are doing this.
Saw this on SlickDeals as well as GameStop posting it. There are GameStop's everywhere, might be able to get a chance since they're in store only. Called around and found a couple locally that told me over the phone they were getting an allocation of 10 each. Not sure what time to start the...
Truth be told I wanted an Aorus Xtreme because it matches my mobo LED's, that or a FTW or Strix. Probably will be happier waiting anyway, seems like there are still some issues to be ironed out in general. I think MOST people just want one prior to Cyberpunk release.
Had one in my cart at BB, lost it. Actually got to the place order screen on Newegg and hit place order, item removed due to lack of availability.
How to beat bots: Get a bot, or wait 2 months.
eBay currently: 100 3090's going for $3,000 USD. Enjoy.
All this confirms is that you just can't beat the bots. I also had nowinstock turned on for notifications on top of website notifications. They didn't even get a chance to pop and send a notification before the bots already had them.
and LOL I managed to get another Zotac in my cart from Newegg and got all the way to checkout and placed the order and then it was removed from my cart. I'm not that pissed because I loathe Zotac, but really, WTF.
Honestly I only went for the 3090 because I figured at it's price point it would be less sought after - but the bots obviously don't care. I'm sure we'll see this on eBay very shortly going for much more.
