I've got an old 350W PSU with a 3yr warranty from Antec. I have the original receipt (Dec 04) but they have told me that i need to return it to them in Rotterdam from the UK by post!
What kind of a warranty is that - send half-way across Europe for a replacement?
Anyone else had this problem?
Hola fellas. Looks like i can dust off the E4300  and my officially compatible Corsair memory  and get one of these babies!
The f-ihd90 was rma'd about a month ago so i am keen to get on with the HTPC again now that a real option has appeared. Onboard Firewire is great too...
Just RMAing mine to Scan in the UK. My CPU temps were under 60 even with load, and I didn't get past 300FSB.
Board will not Post now. I noticed the NB running very hot (heatsink) to touch. Wonder if it's just too hot?
Guess what guys........... my board is dead.
It won't post, it has the red LED on the board lit for power, and then an amber LED next to the SATA ports.
Other than that, nothing, nada, nicht. The board is as dead as a flaming monty python parrot.
I have only run the ABIT unofficial and...
what's you point? its a single processor with two cores....
on the dvd discussion, i don't know - all i'm doing is playing a standard DVD (not Hi-def) using XP Service Pack 2, through the onboard HDMI connection using all the standard Abit drivers supplied, into a 720p plasma screen with...
DVD Playback info: Running a E4300 with mild o/c to 2,2Ghz, CPU is 4-8% with hardware acceleration, and 4-9% without. Seems very happy with PowerDVD 7.0.
To get hdmi working make sure you have selected HDMI in the bios settings, and loaded all supplied drivers PLUS the hdmi audio driver...
Update on HDMI and DVD playback. Now working perfect with sound and no jerkiness - just needed a copy of PowerDVD 7 which includes Avivo hardware support option. Lovely stuff - except that i can't overclock as much as i want when using the o/b video!:)
Guess i should be happy for getting a mATX board capable of turning my £100 chip into almost a £325 E6700. But i'm not. :)
The DVD playback last night comparing two reference copied of Casino Royale showed up how choppy playback was with Div-X vs a standalone Philips upscaling DVD HDMI...
:D Something like that. Thx. Didn't make an difference to my stability over 2.7Ghz though, so now stuck at 300Mhz memory speed .
Surely if the board is meant to support CPIs that require DDR800 it should be able to run 400Mhz no problem? Or am i over-simplifying?
BTW With my setup...
Lol. That's bigger than the CPU cooler. Excellent.:) I didn't really want to have to splash out on an extra NB cooler!
I can see you're not using onboard vid either.:(
Even at a lowly 3Ghz with an E4300 my NB heatsink is running very hot indeed. I don't have a reading, but i'm guessing around 60 celcius or more.
Has everyone whose board didn't die replaced the heatsink or used better thermal paste?
