Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. Hello,
It proved that my first card was faulty so I got a new card back via RMA, from evga, and it seems to be working ok now (all's good, temperatures for the card are around 41-42o C and all) but it just seems to be under-performing with what i currently have, a chieftec 550w that has 18A...
Thanks a lot my friend, appreciated.
Btw, is EVGA rma-ing to specific countries only? 'cause i tried to use their online rma but it lists only certain countries!
Thanks a lot for those lists!
Today, I was told by Evga customer support to check the card on other systems as well; so I did. 3 computers, 2 pentium and 1 athlon amd xp , all similar to my system but with no luck, no boot at all and I used my own psu (the one described earlier). One time it...
...although i doubt that the missing power cable is the problem.
Btw, Could the memory specs of the card be not-fitting with my ram and motherboard or isn't that an issue?
It has Memory 256MB GDDR3
In Detail:
*
EVGA GeForce 7800 GS CO OverClock Edition 256MB - AGP 8X

Is your card working all right with the Antec Tru Power II 550watt psu? Do you have it connected directly to the psu via a 4-pin molex adapter or through the pci 6-pin connector?
Thanks a lot,
D
Forgot to mention that i'd prefer a cheap solution.
Would this do it btw?
TAGAN TG480-U01 480W DUAL FAN BLACK + 2 X PCI-E
480W with 28Α on +3.3V, 28A on +12V, 48A on +5V, 1A on -12V, 0.8A on -5V and 2.5A on +5VSB
Link (in Greek, but specs show as well)...
Hello,
It seems that i can't get my newly purchased video card to work, 'cause of the power supply.
Here's the set up:
POWER SUPPLY
CHIEFTEC
GPS-550AB A (ACTIVE PFC)
Rated Power: 550w with +12V carrying 18A and 216W
MOTHERBOARD
CHAINTECH ZENITH 7NJS ULTRA EZ
BASIC...
Chieftec is the brand.
All this sounds logical but what if it's a card problem? I mean even if it was on low power, wouldn't it still let the pc and itself power up but later tell me i am low on power, in windows or something? This thing here works only for 5-10 seconds and then i get a...
You mean it's not the lack of that cable that causes the problem? 'Cause i had the card connected directly to a 4-pin molex which goes up to the power supply.
Thanks,
D
UPDATE!!!

Woah, 30A! Do you have any specific sup in mind? I am going to return mine tomorrow and see what i'll do but 'till now, over a small search i did earlier, i wasn't able to find one psu with more than 25A on 12V
Appreciated,
D
