    Thanks guys. This is exactly the advice I've been looking for. As for budget... I'm thinking 250 - 300 right now. That could vary depending on how much I get for my old components. I just haven't followed gpus over the past few years and have no idea what to look for anymore.

    Is the any advantage going beyong 2500K for gaming?

    I was just looking into this exact same question. So far from what I have found, stick to the 2500k for gaming. Moving up to the 2600 or 2700 wouldn't do much unless you also plan on video encoding, graphics editing, etc.
