    E6420 Overclock Thread

I'll have to read and look into it more, but is there anything necessarily BAD about running voltage that high as long as temps are down? And do you think I should pump up the FSB and use a multiplier? That should speed up everything I think. (again, I have to read!)

    E6420 Overclock Thread

Batch: L709A530 packed on 5/01/07, bought from Newegg. I just got my processor yesterday and it's been clocking great for me. :D I have a P5B Deluxe Wifi with 1101 drivers, G.SKILL 2gb 6400 RAM, Ultra-120 Extreme w/ AS5. I had trouble installing the Ultra-120 Extreme because my fan was...

Who do I believe? BIOS showing different temps then TAT/CoreTemp

And another question (sorry..). Sometimes when I have new settings my graphics card suddenly is half as powerful. Right now I'm at 400x8 and it's real stabile with 42C runnnig double Orthos. I tried going a little higher but when I restarted, ATI Tool averaged around 450fps (as opposed to the...

Who do I believe? BIOS showing different temps then TAT/CoreTemp

Just got an all new system and I've been setting it up all day. I have an E6420, Ultra-120 Extreme with AS5 and a 110CFM fan running on a P5B Deluxe WiFi (with the most recent drivers 1101). The first time I started the system up, idle temps in the BIOS (these are all at stock speeds) in the...

    So.....this was fun. Stock cooling E6420 SuperPi @ 15.156s

What temperatures are you getting? I just set up my new computer (E6420 w/ Ultra-120 Extreme and AS5) and my temperatures on BIOS showed 39C.. I think that's way too high for this heatsink. :(

Is the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme not suppost to sit any tighter?

I had told you about my trouble with a closed-hole fan with the Ultra-120 Extreme. I used some steel wiring to tie it on and it works great. Nothing fancy, and I know it doesn't look good but I don't have a window so it doesn't matter to me what it looks like as long as it doesn't fall off...

Is the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme not suppost to sit any tighter?

I'll post them tonight when I get a hold of a camera.

Got my Westinghouse LVM-37W3 37" 1080p display today!

It comes fully assembled in the box. It's not enormous, I could see it easily fitting into any back seat (it'd take up the whole back seats, but it'd fit).

Is the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme not suppost to sit any tighter?

This seems like the thread to ask this: I just got my Ultra-120 Extreme and a fan. I'm still waiting for my computer parts but I decided to hook together the fan and the heatsink to see how it fit. The fan I'm using is the Silverstone FM121. It's white, ugly, and loud but I won't have a...

Newegg shipment said 53 pounds.. I had somebody help me put it in place (awkward position) but the UPS guy carried it in himself.

Got my Westinghouse LVM-37W3 37" 1080p display today!

Hey guys.. I just got mine delivered today. Bought it for $999 on newegg and paid about 70-75$ shipping. I saw it in Best Buy yesterday for $1550 and laughed. I've been using a 19" flat screen CRT at 1280x1024 for a few years and I've never owned an LCD. I've downloaded a couple LCD color...

Curious. Reply only if you waited for 2900 but now buyin 8800 instead

Yeah, I just ordered a GTX also. I'm sure ATI will do something with it once they shrink it to 65nm and time with drivers, but I can't wait another 6 months.

FYI: The 2900XT is selling out everywhere .

I was about to be one of those people purchasing, as I have been waiting for a couple months to get this card (Westinghouse 37" just ordered). After reading the reviews and pacing my house for a while, I had to make a decision. My first NVIDIA card ever (8800GTX) is on the way.
