I have a ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard but will have to check later about that memory controller (unless you know and can tell me). The site I am buying from only do 16GB sticks not 32GB so can't go 2x32GB unfortunately, it's only 4 stick and I am not sure if they would just bundle 2...
My bad, I didn't make clear in my original post that the RAM I am considering buying is exactly the same (in name, model, speed) to my current. If I have some spare cash left over when I buy my 4090 I'll get another 32GB. I was just worried that I won't have dual rank and dual channel.
But why would the RAM be slower if I am buying the same brand and model? I understand no two kits are exactly the same even if their specs say so. I'm not going to know until I try it right?
The slower of the two? but both my original kit and the purchase will be the same speed, model etc unless you mean what Zepher is saying about they may not be able to get to 3600mhz overclock?
My PC was pre-built by PC Specialist during the times where GPUs were very hard to get hold of. I will be replacing my 6700 XT with an NVIDIA RTX 4090 in late June / early July from PC Specialist via their upgrade feature (their prices are the cheapest I can find). I have the option of buying...
My floors are suspended timber floors so there is a large void below. When I moved in, I lifted up a row of floor boards, I fed a brand new from the packet fibre optic HDMI cable from one room to the other (I had to drill a hole in the floor board at the entry and exit point to feed the cable up...
Are you 100% sure that is correct regarding the TV running automatically on a lower resolution? My TV info button confirms that the resolution is 3840 x 2160 and different video game settings also allow me to use that 4k resolution.
My fibre optic HDMI cable is installed under the floorboards...
Thanks for replying. No, I don't think so. I am able to game at 4k resolution for hours in HDR on games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Mafia Trilogy, Tomb Raider, GTA V, all demanding games in 4k. No problems at all. My issue is really not to do with the hoops I jump through for HDR, it's running on...
I have a MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD Monitor (1st screen) and Samsung KS8000 4K TV (2nd screen). Often I will game on the TV in the next room with a controller as I find it more comfortable than sitting at my desk. I usually select 'Duplicate Display' and turn off my monitor while I game on the TV. I...
Well anyway thanks all for the help. I have reported my experience to AMD in case it is a bug. I totally agree with you T4rd when you sometimes feel like gaming on a console, it's just hassle free isn't it? Plug in and play but when your PC is running well, then I think it's worth it :)
My MSI MAG274QRF-QD 27" IPS monitor has just arrived and I have an X‑Rite i1Display Pro calibration device which I bought a few years back. Usually I use the X-Rite software but I keep reading about people using DisplayCAL so I've installed this instead. I'm not exactly sure if I have calibrated...
