Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks! Just downloaded it.
It says my Core Voltage is 1.288
Also, the Core Speed section says the speed is 3799.9mhz
Multiplier is x 38
and bus speed is 100mhz
So this too appears to be a 3.8ghz system and does not indicate a slower speed of 3.2ghz.
What does yours say?
This...
ran Prime95 blended torture test and the temps were mostly high 60's occasionally creeping into low 70's with highest recorded 74.
also downloaded RealTemp GT and those temps were the same as Core Temp.
Also, the Intel Boost Monitor showed that Boost mode was pinned at 3.8ghz. When the...
Thanks!
I am running it and it shows the most of the time it's running at 3.2 with occasional bursts up to 3.8.
Where the core temp monitor program shows it's aways running in Boost->3.8. I bet core temp is wrong. It says:
Frequency: 3852.12Mhz ( 100.0 x 38.5 )
The multiplier is...
I didn't look to see what it was before I called them but the idle temps were in the mid-high 30's.
It's basically pinned at 3.8ghz right now, that seems to be overclocked, no?
I don't know what BIOS setting would enable it to throttle up and down the 3930k range of 3.2 - 3.8ghz.
Is...
Got my new NAIBGEAR system and it the 3930k cpu never comes out of turbo mode.
According to core temp program anyway.
Idle temps are from mid 40'sC to 50C depending on the core.
Sounds higher than it should be but maybe not for being in turbo mode ( 3.8ghz ) all the time.
When I...
thanks.
i haven't looked at the 3930k yet. i'm buying this pc already built, and just looked but couldn't find a vendor that offers the 3930k. do you know any?
Thanks again, plugwash.
the quad core 8mb cache i7 2700k fits the new 1155 socket, which is good for future boards, etc.
the 6 core 12mb cache i7 990X uses the older socket, which is not so good, but it's performance may future-proof it by itself.
is the 6 core i7 990X really outperform the i7 2700 by that much...
IntelEnthuaist:
DOes this:
-VT-d (Virtualization with Directed I/O) allows you to assign hardware to a VM,
mean that only non-K series CPU's can run vm's like vmware, parallels, virtualbox, etc?
Thanks.
i was incorrect on the proce difference. you guys are correct about that.
I just now went to verify that at the vendor website who builds these systems.
Last night they offered 2 higher end cpus for this model:
an i5 2500k and i7 2600k.
Just went back and just today they've added the 3.50...
good point.
the last page of this review is pretty convincing. put me down for the 2600K:
