Heroes of Newerth is now $10!

So try Savage 2, instead. Graphics aren't up to HON quality, but learning curve isn't as steep, community is much more forgiving, and it's free.

    5870 brands? Does it matter?

Can the quality (volume) of the manufacturers' cooling solutions be generalized? i.e. are Sapphire cards typically noticable quieter than their comparable XFX breathen?

    What makes more sense, i7 920 or i7 860?

Unless, of course, power and heat are a concern for you. (i.e. SFF build). In that case, 860 has some better attributes. I'm actually wanting to hear more about the 860 "S" variant.

Core 2 Quads and their S versions - how big are the differences?

Don't want to hijack the thread, but I'm interested in the same question, only for the i5. I was intrigued by the i5-860, but the S version looks like a nicely cooler (and hence quieter cooling) chip.

    micro center 1156 launch

I assume that's only the i7-860 and not the i7-860s? I'm looking forward to benchmarks between the two, because 10-15% lower TDP should be much cooler for the same top-end speed. (Assuming non-overclocked.)
