    Thanks for that....will test it out. It's in a norco 4224..so, no, not really...but will take note of the temps of the heatsink on the LSI and have put a put a 80mm fan on it. I seem to recall the issue existed from cold boot...even after being off for some hours so I do not think temp's are...

    As others have said, the issue is not related to raidz2 and I very much doubt this has anything to do with Solaris 11 express either. You should be able to max out gigabit in both directions. Are you seeing any errors in iostat? What are you using to copy the files, native windows or a copy...
