    New X79 system power draw.

The GTX 480 when OCed is not even close to that 370W. Two GTX 680 with OC ~ 500W at most, one 3930k OCed ~ 200w. In the worst case, your whole setup will peaked at around 700-750w (that's when you run Linpack with AVX on the CPU@5.0Ghz and Furmark on your 680s simultaneously). I don't know why...

    New X79 system power draw.

Assume that you have a good 850W psu, it will handle the 3930k and 2x GTX 680 with ease. That system will likely peak at ~ 700w when you fully loaded everything.

    1080p streaming/decoding minimums?

Spend your budget on Gigabit switch & other network equipments, even an atom based server is capable of streaming HD flawlessly.

    PhysX in Borderlands 2

Playing Borderlands 2 with everything maxed out@1080p, so far I have reached level 3, playtime ~ 30 mins. FPS around 50-80, mostly 6x, min FPS have never gone below 4x in heavy firefight. PhysX High with a single 480, this game is not as heavy as I thought :p

    PhysX in Borderlands 2

Guys, I can get the following cards for the same price to run as a dedicated PhysX card and it's been hard to make a decision here, so which one would you get ? (power consumption is not a problem for me, pure performance desired :p) 8800GT 256 bit DDR3 512MB - this one has most CUDA cores but...

Single PSU powering graphics cards across two computers?

It will be ok, just a little bit ghetto thought :D, back in the 2000s when F@H is new, many of us were using 1 PSU with splitter for 2 system 24/7 completely fine.

$140 for GPU: Single Nvidia or Hybrid PhysX?

With 140 bucks, your best bet will be a single card, not 2. GTX 560 is the right choice. Or some used GTX 560 Ti / HD 7850

Corsair 1200i power supply question for owners

    The corsair AX1200 comes with 2*EPS 12v so I don't see any reason why the AX1200i don't. And the EPS 12v is not compatible with the PCI-Express 12v. The EPS 12v are like this: +12v - +12v - +12v - +12v - Ground - Ground - Ground - Ground And the 8-pin PCI-E: Ground - Ground - Ground -...

Looking for a quiet, 650w PSU for gaming

    If you want the best: Corsair AX650 / Seasonic X-650, X660 The good: Corsair HX 650 / TX 650 - XFX Core 650 - Seasonic S12II / M12II 650..... These are pretty good & quiet PSUs.

    Best 1000w Platinum psu

@OP: Your 750W Platimax will handle your system just fine. Two 580s maxed out at around 500W only, 2500k ~ 120w, other components ~ 100w. It is close to the 100% mark, but only possible when you full load everything in your system at the same time with stress tests such as furmark & intel burn...

EVGA SuperNova NEX1500W Power Supply Review

That review really sucks. Waiting for other reviews with better equipments.

Lapping: It really works! (my experience)

I usually started with 600 grit and then 800 1200 1600 2000. If I recall correctly, lapping both my TR Ultra ex 120 and my Q6600 helps lower the temps around 6°C

Getting TDP hard to find on some components - advice?

1200w corsair is plentiful for that system. HDD (mechanical and SSD) are less than 10w, optical drive < 25w, memory ~ 5w per module. Your system will never be able to get close to 1200w. Be worry free getting your corsair 1200w :D

Can an underpowered PSU damage hardwares?

If it is a good PSU, protections will kick in, everything will be safe and sound. If it is not a good PSU, then the rail's voltage and ripple may run out of specs and kill your hardware :p

    750w enough?

Assuming that OCing and other components will be able to make that build to reach 650w then what ? 650 is only 86% of 750. PSU ratings are continuous load, not peak load. And you will only be able to reach that load under extreme condition: cpu and vid cards are fully loaded simultaneously...
