Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Considering I was able to get a 2.1 set for 70 bucks from Best Buy 2 years ago, I don't understand how a typical 5.1 system should be any more expensive than $300. The only true downfalls of that system was that it picked up on the GSM too easily and was primarily meant for PC. I honestly...
I know nothing when it comes to figuring out all the wiring and hardware that goes on behind how audio systems work. I am not an audiophile so I can't tell the difference between good and bad encoding, I just want to be able to clearly hear my music and video game noises. So with that in mind...
I feel the need to reply to this thread to let you all know that the dosdrv window I got was actually caused by the Bacros virus that McAfee didn't even catch until the latest update (last night's) so if anyone else searched for and found this thread, let it be known, it's a virus! And...
Motherboard, video card, memory, and CPU are all brand new. Thus, the WinXP install is extremely new as well. In fact, I got that pop-up after I got around to re-activating the system and not before. Memory is from Crucial and as far as memtests go, what would you suggest? I know I can...
I'll just lay it all out here now and then get to the questions afterward:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (393-pin)
ASUS A8V Deluxe
2x 512MB PC3200 DDR RAM
Saphire x800 Pro VIVO (No, the extra 4 pipes are not hacked [yet] I'll get around to it when I need it)
Windows XP Home
2 Hard Drives that are...
Okay, I didn't want to have to embarrass myself like this, but I am not overclocking I am only using stock speeds. Hell, the A8V review that [H] did even says not to OC with the board.
So, nobody knows what speed PSU my hardware needs huh? Just "spend more and you'll have less chance of...
Thanks guys but seriously, I'm not that much of a hardware enthusiast, I just buy the essentials. The $30 400 watt simple power supply from newegg would be what I purchase, but I need to know what my hardware needs as far as wattage goes. Do I need 500watt+ or can I get by with just 400?
Uhhh I somehow don't think I need 550watts... and I especially don't think I need a $100 PSU...
I think I'll re-ask my question:
What wattage PSU do I need to have?
A8V Deluxe
ATi Radeon x800 Pro VIVO (Sapphire)
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (939-pin)
2 512MB PC3200 DDR RAM
Couple of average hard drives, about 1-2 years old.
So what wattage should my power supply be? Thanks in advance.
agar I suggest you go through this and the rage3d threads and see which versions of the Pro VIVO work. I went through the rage3d one and saw Sapphire so that's why I got that. I have only seen 1 person say that "they had a friend" who got their VisionTek to work but nobody has actually stated...
Yep, but you know what? I just bought it anyway. It's the cheapest VIVO I can find anywhere and it's softmoddable! I suggest everyone get them while they're hot!!! :D
Does anybody have a link to an American vendor where the cost of the x800 pro VIVO isn't 440 bucks but the actual 400 bucks that everyone is making this out to be? Also, I found an x800 XT (scroll down) for $435. Is this XT crap compared to a softmodded pro VIVO since everyone is saying that...
