Can't see him today, so maybe he's found his way out. As odd as this sounds, it was actually quite nice having him around!! I named him "Ralph the 2nd" :D
Ralph the 1st was a spider that lived under the fridge in a PC repair workshop i used to work in! :p
Hi guys, I've had a 2475w since last November, however tonight, I've noticed I have an actual bug in my display
I can see it walking around n everything! Tried on multiple inputs just to check!!
Just thought i'd throw this out there!
Hi guys,
I'm looking at getting myself an evga gtx280, and have read about squeeling noises (presumed to be cap whine, or something to do with noisy coils). After having two 4870x2's (from different manufacturers) squeel like pigs, to the point where it hurt, im keen to get a card which does...
I may be in that position too. I've got an evga gtx280 on the way, should be here before xmas (i hope) comes with the 90 day step up, so lets hope evga pull a 295 out of the bag before my 90 days runs out :p They will, won't they?
Nice one mate, im pleased for ya'.
I've just RMA'd my Sapphire 4870x2, im in two minds as to what to get next.
I'm tempted to just abandon the 4870x2's and look elsewhere, i know its illogical, but when you've had two go bad, you cant help but form a bad impression of them....
Thoughts?
I think i cans safely say its the graphics card making the noise. Just powered the card up in my old system:
amd athlon 64 3500
msi k8n diamond motherboard
antec true power 550w psu
1gb corsair ddr 400 ram.
Played CoD2 at 1680 x 1050 and noise if most definitely there.
I had my...
Dito, I'm using a gigabyte ex58-ud5 and have tried running my old 6800gt with no hiss at all. I'm just trying to set up an OS on my old pc so i can run up my 4870x2 in it to see if it will still hiss in there. I'll keep you posted
Going to test the card in my old pc later, see if istill get a whine. THe old pc has 550w psu, with an athlon 64 3500cpu, im hoping the psu will be ok...
As always, i'll let you know how it went!
Just sat here and had a thought... im using the pci-e connectors from my psu to connect my 4870x2, sapphire included 4pin molex > pice adapters (6 and 8). I know its a LONG shot, but none the less, I'm curious whether hooking it up that way may help...
Dont really understand PSU's enough to...
Just had my Sapphire 4870x2 arrive, and can confirm the noise is there.I guess i'll just have to put up with it. Cant really be bothered to go through RMA'ing it again, I'd rather get some gaming going!
Might see if i can try the card in my mates pc, he has a PSU capable of powering it, and...
Be intersting to see if you're right about the PSU making a noise. I should have a replacement Sapphire 4870x2 coming tomorrow. When checking out the noise I previously had on my HIS card, i spend many an hour with my head in my case trying to pinpoint the Inoise. i was almost sure it was coming...
