Yes, the 900D is nice but I'm done with this system build, may be for the next one ;)
There's definitely room for improvement with the Ares 2 driver, my two GTX 680s were able to beat one Ares 2 card on several benchmarks and it's more prone to driver crashes then the GTX driver.
Actually the cooler works well, quite and low temps (low 50's most of the time) when GPUs are overclocked but the stock fans crap; I replaced one on each radiators with a Slip Stream 120 and will swap the others two out as well with the SS 120s that are on order. I would have liked to be able to...
Agreed the card performs well. I don't care about the cost or Epeen (just satisfied with the final build) but I do highly value time, wasted over 5 hours setting up and verifying the 2nd card was defective. Hopefully Newegg will send out a replacement vs. credit me back the money. I'm not sure...
With one Ares II at full load the system is pulling 990 watts. I don't think the AX 1200 is going to be able to handle two cards at full load. I'm going to replace the AX 1200 with a LEPA G Series G1600-MA...
The MB BIOS upgrade fixed the crossfire issue and stabilized the benchmark runs:
Looking good - Fire Strike Extreme 3421, 400 more then two GTX 680's and 20c cooler

ATM I'm not pleased with the 3dmark 11 scores: x6420 to x7252 or fire strike 2538 extreme from one Ares II. My two gtx 680 were hitting 3055 on fire strike extreme. FurMark crossfire numbers suck they're half of what I get with crossfire disabled. I think there could be a driver issue related...
Yep I thought about that to, one reason I did not buy the Asus Mars card. I'll drop the card in tomorrow and run the PCMark tests. uk.hardware.info has already run most of them but I think I can do a bit better...
They'll always be faster cards/components down the road, for me it's a matter...
Nope they're both going into the one system, waste of money to split them up ;) ... only thing left I'm thinking of replacing is the CPU :D I could use dual cores or save that option for the next one I build.
I'll dump the two GTX 680 in the last system I build it could use the upgrade.
I'm waiting on the second card to arrive, np I'll post pics of the system once they're all installed
This is the system with the two GTX 680 that I'm replacing:
Annoying Newegg order limit, I had to ask my sister to order one for a pair. They still have not sold out, I could of ordered it after 48 hours lol. Well I'm very interested in how well the cards perform. UPS will be here today with the first card :)
I'm still trying for figure out where to...
