Yes thank I already saw that link.
( I have the single port PT however )
And I can't find which one is supposed to be "better" . All I see is that the PT is hot and power hungry while the CT is power efficient. Do you know of other differences?
Hi,
Currently my server uses 1 Intel Pro CT. I found Intel PT for 9 euro on ebay so I bought 2.
I searched the whole web for an answer but I couldn't find which one is faster / more powerful etc...
The CT is more recent but I don't know which one I should be using.
Thank you!
This is Hardforum. People will tell you to buy Gold Plated, Ruthenium insulated Intel SLC drive.
But in my opinion 2 Cheap Kingston drive will do it as long as you zfs version is high enough ( v18 I think ? ). If you are unlucky 1 drive will fail and so what? replace it.
If you are VERY VERY...
I think I will too wait for the transformer 2. We are not talking about a +20-40% improvement in 6 month ( CPU like ) but a +400% improvement in 3 months.
( Tegra 3 is 5x more powerfull than Tegra 2 but A LOT more important : it can accelerate H264 decoding through hardware : I WANT XBMC on...
It seems it's impossible to monitor CPU temp in Solaris. That's quite a problem. When I have some time I will unmount my HDDs, boot on Linux and do a stress test there but... Don't Solaris pro care about temp?
I have an ... interesting... bug :
NFS reports 5.72 Terbaytes of free space
ZFS reports 5.2 Terabytes of free space
Free space and percentages doesn't match :

EDIT : Using " format " it seems all of my disks have TWO slices ( s2 and s8 ) on...
silly-domain-name is a name I can chose myself on the server ? Or is it a precise name?
Can i just for example add at the end of the file : 192.168.0.1 imac ?
And thanks !
" [ID 589989 daemon.error] Could not find DNS entry for tcp " seems to be a bug in Solaris 134, fixed in 141. But I am using OI 151 wtf?
NFS is probably the single most important part of my server. SO I would really like to make it work :D
Also why are my permissions for /tank/videos/films "...
My server was a little noisy so I :
Set cpupm to " enable"
Set cpu threshold to "1s"
Set harddrive threshold for ALL drives EXCEPT bootdrives to 30 min
Disabled Solaris Fault Management.
Does it seems good? Is Solaris Fault Management that useful?
Thanks
Also :
I took a look at my logs...
While I was able to NFS into my server just after installing it I am now unable to access it with NFS with my Mac and Ubuntu machines.
I've got these messages : RPC not available on server, or sometime nfs.mount : server denied permission.
Also I did managed to install phpvirtualbox but I now...
