Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Got a parcel in the post yesterday, it was my new-ish server.
It's a Dell Poweredge 1950, the one with the 4 2.5" drive bays in the front. Didn't come with any hard drives in it, so am going to buy a few 500GB's from Amazon and put them into RAID. As for OS I was thinking of hijacking the SATA...
Before, and after >
We complained to Virgin about some pitiful speeds we were getting, sometimes it was around 5Mb/s down, others it wasn't even 1Mb/s. They upped our package to the 60Mb/s and gave us the new superhub thing for free, and told us we'll get either 100Mb/s or 120Mb/s once...
Got this lot home from work today.
They were all ready to be skipped as some of them have broken screens / issues.
Am hoping to make a couple of decent ones from the lot. The 2 shiny top ones are EEEPC 1005HA's and the rest are EEEPC 1001P. If I can get some of the 1001P's working they'll...
Mine got here alot quicker than that. Ordered directly to Farnell / Element14, they received my order on the 24th May.
Tbh, I forgot I ordered it, so it was a nice suprise when it came though the post lol. It's defo worth the wait though, really really cool device. Going to see if I can get a...
Got this little beast through the post yesterday;
Plugged in and working;
Quite happy with it, seems pretty speedy for what it is. Only problem I have so far is every time I want to use it, I'll have to plug it into the TV downstairs as my comp screen doesn't support HDMI. Guess I...
Yeah indeed, I've had a quick look on Ebay and the model I have atm is still around £600 to buy on there :eek:
This one is a bit bashed up, got a few dents and scratches here and there too; dunno if that makes a difference on the price side of things.
Borrowing this from my colleague for a while, I was all for hating Macs because of the experience I've had with them at work, but when you've got one on it's own, it's awesome. It's a "Late 2008 13inch" version, according to Apple support.
Considering asking how much he wants for it..
Hows that Chenbro case going? I've been looking into a NAS build for a while but can't find any decent price cases that support 4 or more drives + hotswap. Also what mobo is in there?
Got myself the new servers. Another DL360 G3, dual Xeons @ 2.80GHz, 4GB ram. The other is a DL380 G2, that...
Not working? Or did I miss something? Lol
Tomorrow I should be getting some more stuff.
Couple more DL360 G3's, a DL380 G3/4, and hopefully the DL380 G7.
I need to clear a space in the garage for all this stuff.
Pics tomorrow :)
^ To add to that, I like the blue glow, awesome.
Seeing all them drives reminded me I need to replace one of mine, it seems to have just died on me. It's been flashing orange for a while, only now it's just started flashing red. Glad it's the hot spare and not one of the main ones lol.
Also...
Not yet. I't something I want to have a mess around with though. I don't have the equipment to do it since it's all switch based iirc?
And anyways, the people that do go on there are people I can trust. Everything over the lan is protected/passworded, there's no open shares or machines without...
Nice Dash, looks cute lol.
Couple of projects I've been working on,
V - Before reinstall/move around, netbook running 2K8 Enterprise 32bit, screen was running Macbuntu from a bootable stick.
V - During, putting my old mobo into the new case, 1.8GHz Core2Duo, 4GB ram.
V - Fits in nice...
That NAS looks ALOT like an RM Diskbox, which I should be receiving soonish, I hope.
Will take some pics of what I've been working on and upload tomorrow :)
I got bored earlier.
So I threw them SAS drives into the ML, that's an extra 900GB-ish space in there now!
I was tired of having the stuff sitting under my desk, so I've put it to use.
The top one is a normal 500GB sata, the other 3 are 15K 147GB SAS.
I'm in the middle of modding one of the...
@Dash, it was the DL360 G3 iirc.
I had it running on my bed while I was messing around with it, the radiator was on behind it, that couldn't have been helping. I didn't realise at the time lol.
No server yet, they haven't decommissioned it yet. Guess it'll be here next week then. :rolleyes...
