    BF4 Premium @ greenmangaming.com $40

Overall I do agree with the rant that Season passes are just publishers milking more money out of the fans, in the case of Battlefield if you're a die hard fan there's usually enough value to warrant the purchase. The trick is just don't pay full retail for either the core game or the season...

R9 290 Delayed Due to Driver Improvements (Competes with 780?)

They need to bring back the never settle bundle on the R9 cards.

Big Price Cuts for GeForce GTX 780 & 770 Tomorrow, GTX 780 Ti Coming 11-7

I don't know if it's that big of a deal, most of these custom 780's seem to overclock past the B1 stepping, I'm sure even the Ghz edition will be boost capped to 80c operating temperature. Lower power consumption? Again just look at true non-reference cards like the Asus DCII and if they're...

Big Price Cuts for GeForce GTX 780 & 770 Tomorrow, GTX 780 Ti Coming 11-7

    Nvidia Price Cuts...

It's $150 off of the price of the 780, if a card is using a custom cooler then it won't hit the $499 price dead on.

Big Price Cuts for GeForce GTX 780 & 770 Tomorrow, GTX 780 Ti Coming 11-7

crap, looks like Newegg had a price error on the EVGA ACX. It was $519.99 but now it's back up to $559.99

How long before non-reference coolers will come attached with the 290x?

Linus said six weeks on his youtube channel, not sure if that's a guess or if that's what vendors told him. some are reporting there won't be any till 2014 - mostly because it seems there's a supply issue with the cards themselves - the 290X anyway.

to X or not to X

I was going off of this comment, he's actually been using the 290 and says it's within 5C of the 290X http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=25193517&postcount=99 of course you can set a lower temperature target but that sort of defeats the purpose of buying the card, you probably...

to X or not to X

Thinking about doing the same, also reading reports of very loud coil whine on the 290x cards people are getting. Some say it's even louder then the cooling fan in "uber" mode.

to X or not to X

Yes, the 290 is reference only as well. It seems to run just as hot as the 290x so it'll be just as loud.

    290/290x availability thread

I hope the availability of the 290 non X is better.

to X or not to X

I would think it's dependent on what resolution you game at and perhaps what options you want to enable, for 1080p I don't see how you could go wrong with the 280X especially if this rumor about AMD doing a quiet revision to the Tahiti core is true...

Is 290X as hot and power consuming as GTX480?

http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/AMD-Radeon-R9-290X-Hawaii-Review-Taking-TITANs/PowerTune-and-Variable-Clock-R They cover it in pretty good detail here, you'll drop about 8 to 10% after gaming on the card for a few minutes due to the need to keep below that 95C temp. I assume we'll...
