Well I managed to trap it somewhere between the pixels and it's hardly noticeable now. A simulated dead pixel looks far, far worse. Loving the colors on this monitor. I am now seeing what all the IPS talk was about :) I've noticed another tiny issue though and just want to check is this... -

That's indeed what it is. I hit my desk and nothing happened. Then I tapped the top of the monitor, not too hard, and the "dead pixel" has now moved 5-6cm down the screen! I tried it a couple of times more and it seems like it's stuck again :( Any other tips how could I get this debris to fall... -

Just got one of these. The monitor looks so much nicer in person than it does in photos. Coming from a PVA monitor, the blacks are better than I expected them to be. Not as deep as the PVA screen when compared side to side but it's a non issue for me. Also, wow, a 24" 1920x1200 monitor is so... -

Would someone be kind to take one measurement for me? As odd as it sounds, I need to know what is the distance between the front of the bezel and the actual panel surface on the U2711. One review says 5mm but that doesn't sound right to me. Thanks in advance. -

Thanks for your answer. So basically, the panel itself is slow so they had to set up overdrive quite aggressively which results in inverse ghosting. I've seen this effect on another VA monitor and I think it's just as bad as ghosting/blurring of a slow panel. I need a monitor for work... -

That was actually very helpful tropiciel, thanks for the review. Out of those two, I was thinking about going with the VW instead of the EW because the former seems nicer in pictures being very thin and I don't need any of the extra stuff the EW come with anyway but you do make a good point... -

Hey NCX. The blue tinge in all four corners of the display that you mention in your review, could it be in fact a viewing angle issue rather than actual backlight leaking? ie blacks start to wash out at angles but since we're always viewing the corners at an angle it is visible for centered... -
