Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
You don't even need to "hack it" per say to get it to run a different map software. I have an old Mio with WinCE that I have running iGO8 and it works perfectly. With the 2009 Navteq maps (the ones Garmin use), it works SO much better.
For the price, I might just go ahead and get one of these...
Hope that works out for you. I am currently running my 785G-E53 with Phenom x4 B55 in my HTPC. Using Splash Pro, it handles full 1080p with motion² and everything turned on. (Disabling hardware acceleration through ATI helps with smooth motion when using the on board 4200.)
So far, this has...
Both of the 785G-E53 boards I got came with Bios 3.4. The utility I linked for Bsin explains step-by-step instructions on flashing outside of windows.
If you can't borrow a chip from someone to flash the bios, you might be able to talk the repair center at microcenter into flashing it for you...

Looks that it supports the CPU with bios 3.5 or higher. (I would just go ahead and flash it to 3.6 as I have read some having issues with 3.5)
I found a great tool for flashing here...
I believe http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0342511 is the best mobo in the combo option.
The 1055T should wipe the floor with your 940, honestly. The 1055T will also OC better.
On the 785G-E53 motherboard, I had a ton of trouble trying to unlock my 555BE. I noticed that just turning on ACC would make my solid 2 cores crash (with the 3.6 bios). I reverted to the 3.2 bios (mine came with 3.4) and I am now happy to report that I am running 3 cores @3.8ghz (stock cooler)...
Indeed it is. Nice board for the price.
Same, it's a pretty great deal for the price. I haven't tried unlocking it yet, but I am running 3.74ghz on the stock cooler right now and am stress testing sitting at 50C. Wish I woulda picked up the 635 though. (Unless I can get it to unlock.)
Stumbled upon this the other day: Free mobo with Am3 processors. (Although, you have to go in to the store..)
