    Well this is embarrassing. The reason the power button on my case wasn't working is because somehow the wires connecting the button to my motherboard got unplugged. The old PSU passes the paperclip test, and the new PSU still leads to shutdowns. It's looking like the CPU is overheating...

    I did plug in both cables to the card, yes. Latest update: I'm having trouble getting the power to even turn on now. Sometimes leaving it for a moment before I try again seems to let it turn on. Does this sound like a failing PSU?
