Just a little update... since buying a new burner, and not having my old dvd-rom plugged in i have had zero lockups. Machine has been running perfectly!!! So i guess that was my problem....hopefully its as easy as that for other peoples.- DaForce

Full control hey... thats cool. I just got back from a 6 hour lan... and no freezes whatsoever, not sure whats going on but all seems good so far. Hmm interesting what they say... but im sure some of the people here are not using DFI boards. But it kinda makes sense, but if what they say is...- DaForce

Yeah well i have played about 6 hours of COD2 without a freeze, and over 20 hours of other games without any freezes. So, it seems ALOT less that it used to be on the old win2k system. Well had another lock up today. Only my 2nd on since using XP. Was playing Call of duty 2 while burning a DVD in teh background. The game started to lag and the sound was all shuddery then it froze, whole ordeal lasted about 1-2seconds. Had to hit the ol' power switch. I still have a...- DaForce

Just an update, still no crashes yet after the fresh Xp install on the new Raptor. Have played quite a few hours of quake4 and fear. Not to meantion many hours of battlefield2, Brothers in Arms Earn in blood, and serious sam2 Running perfectly so far Fingers Crossed- DaForce

Ahh ok so you got dell. Fair enough, i dont think Dell deal with X2's anyway. yeah 'tis entriely true. Well i will load up some of my favourite games... (read the ones that used to freeze my machine lots)... mainly fable, and splinter cell chaos theory. and give it a good stress test and see what happens if it locks up i will try the different drivers for the sound card...- DaForce

Well because i have the SLI board i only have 2 PCI slots and the other one is taken up by my PCI IDE controller card. I gues i could try swapping them. Well basically the machine has only ever locked up in games, only like one in windows when i was trying to burn a DVD. ALl other times...- DaForce

yeah man, im pretty nerdy when it comes to cmoputers... lol So all those bases are fully covered. Bios is updated on motherboard and video card. hmm ok, might give that a shot then. Do you reckon getting one of the new X-FI cards would make any difference? So i think i willl just scratch up last nights freeze during sniper elite as a game bug and not a system freeze like what i was experience before hand. Hopefully things will...- DaForce
