    So... Q6600 or E6850?

I am upgrading from X2 4400+ to Q6600 myself. It on the way and I am looking forward to some nice performance increase. :D

This is quite interesting. Yorkfield all ready being sold.

You were probably thinking of mainstream Penryns, which aren't due for another couple of months. The Extreme one is out obviously.

    Wait for the Penryns?

667 is fine if you are not planing to overclock at 1:1. Remember 1333/4 = 333 and DDR2 667 = 333. Might as well as get 800 anyways since RAM is dirt cheap now. There are a lot of good affordable MBs out there, do some research. Do you even know what DDR is? Of course 4x1gb will still run in...

    Wait for the Penryns?

It is a well known fact that new hardware will be priced above MSRP (which $316 ISN'T, it's wholesale price). Retailers will likely will sell around $340 ~$360, and they will mark up due to new release. Of course, the price will normalize and will inch closer to $316 once it's out for a while...

    Wait for the Penryns?

I am in similar boat as you OP, but my rig isn't 5 years old; it's only 2.5 years old. When I upgraded to my current rig, it cost me quite a bit: AMD X2 4400+ was $500, and 7800GTX and $500 as well. So with MB, I spent total of around $1150 which makes my stomach churn. As you now know, 7800GTX...

    8800GT good card! Bad start!

It was a breeze for me. I got BFG at Bestbuy as well, uninstalled the drivers, popped out the 7800GTX, replaced it with the 8800GT, and installed the new drivers. Smooth sailing, no problems.

    My BenQ FP241WZ

I will let you know tonight. EDIT: I just remembered. I played Resistance demo which runs in 720p in aspect ratio mode and it looked great.

    My BenQ FP241WZ

Mike, On PS3: Aspect ratio mode is pixel perfect (1920x1080). Only bars on top and bottom. If it wasn't, this monitor would be going back. Trust me, I am anal about this. :) PC resolution stuff, I will try tonight.

    My BenQ FP241WZ

I had about an hour to play around with the monitor last night and I am VERY impressed. No backlight bleeding, no dead pixels. I was using Dell FPW(?)2005 prior to this. I ordered from TigerDirect and I am happy with their service. I hooked up my PS3 via HDMI and gave it a go. 1080p 1:1...

    My BenQ FP241WZ

I am expecting mine today. I don't know if I can post pics today because I will be busy after work. I will post some tomorrow for sure, including some PC game shots and PS3 shots.

    Which LCD for PS3 - 1080p & HDMI Needed

Clarification: I was alluding that it has HDMI for the PS3 and it will play great. No swapping DVI like the Dell and the Gateway. Although Gateway has problem displaying 720p correctly for PS3.

    Which LCD for PS3 - 1080p & HDMI Needed

You won't find 24" with all the features you are looking for at $400 range. You will have to settle for pseudo 1080p for that price range. I ended up getting BenQ FP241WZ for my PC and PS3. What's great about FP241W and FP241WZ is that even if a PS3 game runs in 720p, it has aspect ratio mode...
