    1. Make sure Speedstep power saving for CPU is on. 2. Like someone said above, use software to downclock CPU voltages/GPU clocks/voltages. Ati tool for gfx cards, and maybe Ntune to turn down CPU voltages, etc. 3. Turn of/disable unused devices like wireless NIC cards, firewire ports...

    problem with HP bootkey maker for flashing BIOS

    you need to add bootable systems files (aka ms-dos files) for it to boot. try googling "ms-dos files for bootable flash drive", since it should apply for sd cards as well.. the only limitation is that some motherboards/bios don't allow boot from sd cards.
