    AthlonXP 3200+ vs Athlon64 3200+ ?

    I have the same motherboard with an XP-M at 2.4 GHz, and the 3200+ Venice rigs I just put together for work are a *bit* quicker and more responsive in Windows. As far as benchmarks it depends, but overall the 3200+ A64 will be a little faster, especially in gaming.

    I'm STILL running an A7N8X-E Deluxe, over two years with an XP-M at 12x200. 100% stable and overclocks very well. No CPU die reading though, socket only. But that's probably the only lame attribute of this board (outside of the fact that it's quite dated now). Last of the NF2 Abit boards...

    Gives the GPU a little more juice, so "theoretically" you can clock it higher. But from what I've read it yields little benefit on the X800 XL (it's a design/manufacturing limitation). Mine does 420 core before artifacting, I'm going to try water BUT I doubt it'll go much further. Good enough...

    At the same clockspeed, I noticed a small percentage increase in performance flashing my Pro to an XT. Bios takes advantage of the better R360 core. Best I hit was somewhere between 420 and 430 (with AtiTool), but then again I was using a "silent" heatpipe cooler... and it ran HOT.

    Aluminium cases are usually pretty thin... and while they transfer heat better than steel, my experience has been that they don't dampen vibrations very well... and are generally more "noisy". I mounted my pump on two layers of foam (about 2" total), and also the side as an extra buffer...
