I confirm that Nexenta works more stable. and I don't know why. I have Adaptec 6805E and try to use it as HBA - all 8 SATA disks configured as JBOD and morphed into Simple Volume. I've tried FreeNAS, Nass4Free and Illumian + napp-it and both drivers for freebsd and solaris from official site...
