    PNY GTX 580 -- Should I Get a Different 580?

A reference GTX 580 typically runs 70-80C under load. As for the hitching, are you experiencing this at relatively high FPS? What type of sounds are emitting from the fan?

    120Hz missing on startup (GTX 680 & Samsung S27A750D)

I have the monitor drivers installed already and it still happens. Typically the first boot it will be stuck at 100Hz than I only have to restart once for 120Hz to show up. On occasion it takes up to 4. Aside from being the most finicky monitor I have ever owned it is still the best monitor I...

    120Hz missing on startup (GTX 680 & Samsung S27A750D)

@evilsofa - Those discussing on that forum are referring to DisplayPort being non-functional with current 301.10 WHQL drivers. 301.24 Beta drivers has brought support for DisplayPort, but at it's current state it won't hold 120Hz (beta bug?). Sometimes my monitor will only list 100Hz being...

    120Hz missing on startup (GTX 680 & Samsung S27A750D)

Practically every other time I start my computer I lose the option for 120Hz. All that is listed in NVCP & monitor properties is 100Hz. This doesn't seem like a big deal losing 20Hz, but BF3 acts weird at 100Hz. The screen stays black longer when spawning and before dying the screen flashes...

    6990 - 2560 x 1600 same performance as 1920 x 1080

Overclock your processor, you could probably hit 3.5GHz easy with stock cooling. 120Hz > 60Hz

7970 squealing noise when playing games?

What power supply do you have? You aren't able to hear any electrical whine with your side panel off?

7970 squealing noise when playing games?

Yeah I tested Vsync on both my monitors (60Hz & 120Hz) it still made this noise. Even in games where I was getting 40 FPS (well below the refresh rate) the noise was still there. The noise still persisted at idle :(

7970 squealing noise when playing games?

My HD 7970 BE DD emits a electric squeal / whine during gaming..it's pretty damn annoying. It even does it while watching videos as well as when I am just at idle (but very faintly).. Performance increase over my HD 6950 is pretty decent on BF3..

    XFX Black Edition's and temps

With the dual-fan you're getting lower noise levels with slightly higher temps. It's the same scenario with my XFX HD 6950 XXX (Dual-Fan). I get around 75C on Crysis and the fan hardly sounds different compared to idle. A stock 6950 is slightly cooler, but screams like a banshee... Anyways...

HD 7970 vs HD 6950 Crossfire- some benchmarks and impressions

Can't wait :D I've been contemplating on whether to get another HD 6950 or go with an HD 7970. My top games are BF3 & BC2, would you please mention any issues that you encounter with both card setups with these games? Thanks *subscribed*
