Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I purchased a Crucial MX100 512 GB SSD drive as a Black Friday special. Of course now I start reading about potential firmware bugs.

Has anyone else run into firmware bugs with this drive? I am considering...
I looked through the system logs and didn't see any obvious errors.
I am vary of running chkdisk because in the past it has seen to make the corruption worse.
Is the best option dd_rescue?
I had a 2 TB WD Green drive on a Windows 7 system start to fail last night. The computer started really slowing down and partially locking up when I attempted to write a file to the drive. I shutdown as quick as I could and connected a spare drive to make an image ASAP. During the imaging...
Definitely not sure that I will be using the Tesla card as it is almost $2000. I also have concerns that the few benchmarks I have seen are only for certain steps of the solution process.
When are Ivy-Bridge-E CPUs supposed to be released?
I don't need a card nearly as high end but it...
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Finite element simulations; Primarily 2D with multiple simulations in parallel
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
I would like to keep the build around $1500.
3) Which country do you live in? If...
I moved to a much larger city and want to get a smart phone to have access to maps and email. Currently, I have two phone numbers; an ATT national plan with an ancient phone and a Tracfone on which I am almost out of minutes. Both numbers are in use and I slightly prefer the number on the...
I have an HP ex490 MediaSmart server that I need to expand the storage in. I already have an Addonics Storage Tower (http://www.addonics.com/products/st.php) that I can reuse for this purpass. Unfortunately, the storage tower is currently configured with 6 individual eSata ports. I would like...
@treadstone: Would you describe your FlexRaid setup in more detail? I just installed WHS 2011 onto an HP MediaSmart EX490 and want to setup something similar to what you described with FlexRaid. Any non-intuitive steps or gotchas?
I bought an HP EX490 6 months ago and finally have some time to begin setting it up. Out of the box it comes with a 1 Tb hard drive.
Is there a good reason to upgrade the system disk to 2 Tb? If so should it be a 7200 rpm disk or is 5400 rpm fine.
Anything else I should make sure to do...
I also got in on the MacMall special and seem to have one dead pixel. If you had one dead pixel would you return a monitor? Would you return it through MacMall or HP?
I am putting together a new system based around the Gigabyte P55A-UD4P motherboard and using Windows 7 x64 for the OS. I have downloaded all of the drivers from Gigabyte website but some of them seem unnecessary. I am hoping to create a base image of the the OS and drivers for a backup once I...
I am trying to decide between getting a single HP ZR24w or two Dell 2311H monitors. I want to act on this fairly soon because I think the price of the HP will increase and I have a Dell Coupon that expires in July. I want a sRGB screen and something that I can run in portrait mode. I...
Actually, I run some FEA simulations that can split out gigabytes of small files. I think some of the simulations are hard disk speed limited. I am concerned with seeks having to move from the Data partition back to the swap and OS partition.
Thanks for the replies. I didn't know about the Windows 7 imaging tool. How does it compare to Acronis? My only concern about partitioning is the speed hit.
