    E8600 results...

I just noticed that I have an engineering sample E8600 but I ordered it from a regular vendor. Is an engineering sample worse than release sample? I have read one article suggesting that ES processors are most likely damaged due to stress testing by intel.

    E8600 results...

I am running an E8600 at 4.4ghz now, 1.38 vcore, but have some 2000mhz DDR3 ram (currently underclocked to 1760). Would it be better to drop the multiplier to 9 and run the FSB at 500mhz so I could run in sync mode with the ram. I am using an Asus P5E3 premium mobo but reluctant to raise FSB...

Dark vertical lines in my 3007

Hmm I have the same thing happen to my Nec 30 inch, except that I did not have vertical lines when I first got the panel but after 3 weeks of use they started to appear.

    NEC MultiSync LCD3090WQXi-BK spotted

I sent my panel back for a replacement (too late for return). As I have stated before, be warned, when I bought the NEC 30 inch, the panel did not have the vertical stripe issue as it was the first thing I tested. But after 3 weeks of use, I had several distinct stripes. If you think this is...

    E8600 results...

How much does higher voltage actually damage the chip? I mean if someone runs the E8600 at 5ghz at 1.5-1.6v and it is stable with temps not getting too high, is it okay to run it at that volatage then? Or does it just decrease the life of the chip? Typically people won't be using chips for that...

    NEC MultiSync LCD3090WQXi-BK spotted

I would SERIOUSLY stay the hell away from this panel. I wouldn't want this thing for free. When I bought it initially, had one faint vertical stripe that you could not see at the brightness I was using. After using this thing for 3 weeks, there are now 4 dark stripes which are now visible...

    NEC MultiSync LCD3090WQXi-BK spotted

I wish someone would compare the NEC 3090 and DELL 3008 glow. I know they use same panel.

    NEC MultiSync LCD3090WQXi-BK spotted

I looked at all your videoes in the NEC review but I think pictures and videos do not really show you the glow unless you see it for yourself. I am talking about the glow visible when viewing straight on. Maybe I got unlucky and got a panel where this problem is more extreme.

    Received my 3008WFP today.

How large is the glow from normal viewing distance? I have a NEC 3090 monitor and the glow from the corners is huge, taking about 1/8 the screen at each corner. I was looking into Dell 3008 maybe the glow wasnt as bad or you could better adjust backlight/brightness.

    NEC MultiSync LCD3090WQXi-BK spotted

On the other hand, ANYONE who wants to play games on the NEC, forget about it. Especially some of the darker games. On my NEC, a huge portion of the left and right corners is basically white, and thats when sitting in front of the screen. I'm not sure how gamma shift would bother me on PVA...

Visualguy, what is your take on the Eizo 30 inch? ALso, why did you sell the Dell 3008? YOu said you sold it long time ago, I assume you probably had the first revision A01 of that panel?

    NEC MultiSync LCD3090WQXi-BK spotted

Well if the Dell does have some of the problems to some extent I'm not sure what I will do. I don't know much about the XL30. Maybe I will look into the Eizo 30 inch.

    Received my 3008WFP today.

Can anyone with a Dell 3008 comment on glow coming from both bottom corners of the panel? especially evident in dark scenes.

    NEC MultiSync LCD3090WQXi-BK spotted

Yea exactly, I have read that review also and did not think it would be a problem before buying the NEC since I would only be looking at the screen from the front. Oddly I do not really see others complaining about this problem with other panels, like the Dell 3008. I am contemplating returning...

Did anyone notice that white turns yellowish white towards bottom of screen? or is it just my panel?
