    It makes perfect sense, for me. I wanted a 4 core / 8 thread CPU.... guess how much a 2600k is ( and no, not used or at a microcenter I don't live near to), $300-310. i7 3820 $310. A Top end MATX board. 1155 Gene-z $190, 2011 Rampage Gene $280. oh BTW you obviously don't NEED to run quad...

    AM3 960T 3.0 That overclocked to 4.0 ghz stable at 1.4v 24/7 ( on a 4+1 matx motherboard, i am absolutely sure it would do better on a real overclocking board). I have not checked it if unlocks, mainly because I am a bit scared of blowing the cheap mobo, but people seem to have very good luck...
