Getting 2560x1440 resolution on Dell U2713HM from laptop

Displayport will work. Displayport to DVI should work, if it's to dual link DVI.

    Single-monitor portrait mode gaming

It's slightly larger than the Sharp, but Eizo sells a couple of 22" 1920x1200 monitors, the S2243W and SX2262W. The first m http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/789285-REG/Eizo_SX2262W_BK_FlexScan_SX2262W_22_LCD.html...

    Single-monitor portrait mode gaming

You should be aware of the Sharp LL-S201A. It's a 19.5" multitouch monitor with 1920x1080 resolution. It costs about $700, which is pricey, but the touch screen is rather fancy. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7979131&CatId=12...

    best ccfl monitor over "20.

Two things: 1. You should see an eye doctor. Your difficulties could be a symptom of something more serious, from a neurological condition to blood pressure problems. 2. What do you mean by "good dot pitch"? Do you mean high pixel density or low pixel density?

    Asus 39 inch 3840x2160 60Hz panel.

Thanks for the info. Here's the source, from late June:

    Asus 39 inch 3840x2160 60Hz panel.

As kabobi mentioned, this is not correct. The 4K IGZO panels are 31.5"; the 39" panels are all expected to be VA, like the Seiki. I don't know if they will be identical to the Seiki panel or a variant, but it's reportedly also going to be manufactured by Chimei Innolux. The PPI on a 39" 4K...

    Asus 39 inch 3840x2160 60Hz panel.

Has there been any information about the 39" 4k monitor? Last I read, Asus pushed the launch back to Q1 2014, but it wasn't a reliable source. The Seiki has been on the market for half a year; the panel has obviously been available. I'm frustrated that no other manufacturer has brought it to...

Mini Displayport KVM Issues - Are Dell and NEC My Only Options?

I'm sure you don't want to hear this, but you should probably give a few more cables a try. I had problems with my DP connection -- it wouldn't wake from sleep, would periodically reset the connection, and would freeze on the monitor splash screen. I had broken my OEM cable, and picked two...

Looking for < $1000 27inch monitor for photo and video editing

This is still a good deal on a professional monitor: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/689882-REG/NEC_PA271W_BK_MultiSync_PA271W_BK_27_Widescreen.html It won't recreate the feel of the ACD though. Some will prefer the NEC, some the Apple.

    Asus 39 inch 3840x2160 60Hz panel.

I just realized that a monitor with this size and resolution will nearly perfectly match the pixel pitch of a 27" 2560x1440 monitor -- it should produce an enormous, if not quite perfect PLP display setup.

recommend best display for coding, please

Get multiple 1920x1200 or 1600x1200 and run them in portrait mode. Turn the brightness way down. There really isn't a better setup for coding.

need your opinion on laptop resolution 1366x768

I have a thinkpad x220 with an IPS screen at that resolution. The screen quality is decent, but even with decent viewing angles, the resolution is limited and limiting. At the time, there weren't other IPS options on the market. I would not buy a laptop with that resolution today.

Triple setup - 27" center + smaller flanks?

I have a 2560x1440 flanked by two 1600x1200 monitors. The PPI doesn't match up, and it is annoying at times, but it's generally quite workable. I usually use the side monitors for reference, and do most of my work on the 27", so it's not like I'm moving screens between monitors that often (and...
