I'm thinking of designing a pizzabox style case, putting the motherboard horizontally, and then having the hard drives and cd drives going underneath the motherboard, having ventilation going across the board and up out of the case.

That's impossible, because in some games it's enabled and you can't turn it off, and it causes weird things.
For example: Planetside. Anis. Filt. does weird things to texture LODs, for some reason you get high res textures up close but really low textures far away.

How do you turn off Ani. Filtering? In the display control panel you can only select "Application preference" and then 2x, 4x, etc.
