    Windows 8 oem reinstall

Well I always considered the oem product key as client provided software when it cames to a OS reinstall. Most clients that I deal with do not have the OS media being they are just home users with oem PC's. At any rate I have it all sorted out. I found a disk by reading the information...

    Windows 8 oem reinstall

Wow the more I think about this the more I am confused. If I wanted to do a fresh install of windows 8 pro it would not work anyway being the install would fail with the message I posted above. This means my buddy's new Gateway oem PC is locked to a Windows 8 core version as far as a fresh...

    Windows 8 oem reinstall

Yeah I tried that but after 3 hours and it being stuck on 9% I cancelled and restarted the pc. Now the PC continually goes into a reboot cycle with a message "attempting repair" It looks like I just hosed my buddy's new PC. Unless I can get a hold of Windows 8 Core (non pro) oem install. I'll...

    Windows 8 oem reinstall

That does not work, I get an error that states "the product key entered does match the image on disk" Only thing is I did not enter a key, so it must be auto entering the key from the bios but the image for windows 8 (non pro) must not be on the pro upgrade disk I have. It seems Microsoft...

    Windows 8 oem reinstall

I can't seem to find the regular version ISO of Windows 8 anywhere. I'm I the only person who has tried to do a fresh install of windows 8 on a new oem pc? What if there needs to be a hard drive upgrade? There has to be a way to get this done?

    Windows 8 oem reinstall

I have a buddy of mine that just brought me a new windows 8 gateway computer and he wants a fresh install of windows 8. But all I have is the windows 8 pro upgrade dvd that I downloaded from Microsoft when I upgraded my personal pc. My buddy's new gateway is windows 8 (non pro) Also...

NOOBUILD - Dad needs some help

He can use Windows 8 Release preview until January or he can use Windows 8 Evaluation but he will have to reload it every 30 days. Windows 8 RTM will be available late October. Just a thought.

Who is still using intel Core 2 duo processors for gaming?

I am still on the rig in my sig. I am not a [H] gamer, but I still fire up an older game now and then "cod modern warfare", Fallout 3. I have a copy of skyrim also that runs fine for me on medium settings on my Samsung 22in monitor. This P.C. has been running 24/7 since March 2007 and still...

Should my computer be this "slow" now? (Video files)

You could also try just one video card. Even one 8800GTS should be able to handle 1080i just fine. Maybe something is screwy with your sli configuration? My GTS 250 plays 1080i just fine and its not much better then just 1 or your 8800GTS,s, and you have a better cpu than I do.

The only way you can run those voltages thru the chip is if your using LN2 for cooling. Definitely not meant for 24/7 use. OP, nice results. Ivory Bridge seems to respond well to extreme overclocking.

    Extremely Disappointed with Ivy-Bridge

I always assumed that all socket 775 Intel CPU's IHS's were soldered until recently. I remember people de-liding the IHS off of the original C2D and having to melt the solder to get it to separate from the die. It is interesting how Intel has switched from solder to TIM to solder then back...

Ivy Bridge Temperatures Could Be Linked To TIM Inside Integrated Heatspreader: Report

You have to remember with today's Intel chips, we have a load plate that grabs the IHS to hold the CPU in place. Much different than the old AMD Athlons. On Intel, if you remove the IHS, the load plate would have to clamp down directly onto the cpu pcb and may not hold the cpu in place...

Ivy Bridge Temperatures Could Be Linked To TIM Inside Integrated Heatspreader: Report

IB isn't soldered. All other Intel chips have had soldered IHS's as far as I know including SB.

Ivy Bridge Temperatures Could Be Linked To TIM Inside Integrated Heatspreader: Report

It can be done, but it's more involved and it means melting the solder without damaging the die, not for the faint of heart. I agree on testing IB with the IHS off would be instructive.

Ivy Bridge Temperatures Could Be Linked To TIM Inside Integrated Heatspreader: Report

An interesting test that could be done now for those who have access to an IB chip, Take a current SB and remove the heat spreader and compare it to an IB with the heat spreader removed. If the temperatures for IB are better then SB at higher overclocks then we would know that the tim is...
